    Well...I'd prefer to see OOTS

But I meant that they might have 'Magnificent' in the role OOTS had last tour.
  2. Not sure if this has been discussed yet....

But in Q mag....Bono says regarding the tour"...its fair to say that what we've planned outdoors has never been done before and that we've been working on it for a long time. Its a feat of engineering genius.."

    Cant wait!!!!

  3. You mean it'll probably be a lower key song like OOTS?
I would agree, it certainly sounds that way, people will probably find it a bit boring and long to be played every show.

Aw, man...I really liked U2 in an arena better than in stadiums or ampitheaters. The energy seemed intensified by everyone being in a room together.

Plus, Chicago's United Center is my favorite place to see a show!!!

Ha, oh well, as long as its good. Any ideas as to "engineering genius" for an outdoor show?

I've been thinking about this one, and the only half-sensible answer I can come up with is some kind of stage which mirrors the "no line on the horizon" theme. If you think about it, the whole image of no line on the horizon is one where the sky and the ground melt / meld into one, and there is no discernible horizon as such - the whole image is a blended singular with changing shades of grey / white / whatever etc.

Transfer that concept over to a stage show and what I'm thinking is that they create a stage where both the floor and the backdrop are made of the same audiovisual material, and so images can be displayed both behind them and underneath them, and in some way perhaps around them also - thus providing a continuous panoramic image with no break between floor & stage etc - could be pretty cool anyway!!

I remember seeing something similar at an awards show recently where the Foo Fighters played the pretender and arrow-like graphics streamed down and underneath them - thought it was pretty cool at the time anyway.

Regardless, I think they'll need a clean stage set up if they want to stick to the "no line on the horizon" theme, and I for one would welcome back some gigantic screen set-up a la Popmart!!

Now - just got to make sure I get tickets!!

Please remember that this topic is not to be used to discuss songs. Just tour themes, concepts, possible names etc.

  7. Yep, but it made me interested 'cos if there was something true about it there would be 7 gigs around me. A friend of mine told me that there was some information about U2 playing in Prague on the next tour, but they want the show promoters to guarantee at least 80 000 people to attend the concert.

can't wait for some official info, I need to know some real dates so much!
