1. I have to agree with Aussie here....might want to wait until a) we actually know which songs are on the album, b) you listen to it a few times and get a feel for the songs.
  2. Anyhow, I'm so damn excited to do such a list once the time has come *g*.

  3. I just want Streets - Please as we heard it on PopMart. Velvet Dress would be cool also. And full band A Sort of Homecoming. New York. Mofo. Numb. Miami.
  4. Here's my setlist prediction for the tour...

    No Line On The Horizon
    Beautiful Day
    Vertigo
    I Will Follow(or Still Haven't Found)
Until The End of The World>>
    New Years Day
    Get on Your Boots
    Moment of Surrender
Bad(or If You Wear That Velvet Dress)
    Tripoli
City of Blinding Lights(or Van Dieman's Land)
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Please
    Pride(In The Name of Love)
Where The Streets Have No Name
    -----------------------------------------------
    Stand Up
    Ultraviolet(or Love Rescue Me)
    With or Without You
    One
    ------------------------------------------
    Magnificent
Bullet The Blue Sky(or When Love Comes to Town)
    Crazy Tonight
    The Fly
  5. I'd love to see "Stay" come back, but not in it's acoustic form from the Elevation tour. Since U2 admit that they perfect their songs long after they're first performed (a la, "The Fly" on Vertigo, close to 15 years after its release), I'd love to see the band take another stab at the electric version of "Stay" with Larry's drums, since they only did it on one tour that way.

Plus, I LOVE Edge's electric flange that leads Bono into the chorus.

My hopes for the new set-

    Crazy Tonight (Nice-sounding tour name?)
    Get Your Boots On
Even Better Than the Real Thing
    Electrical Storm
    Exit
    New Years Day
    Love and Peace or Else
    [NEW MATERIAL]
    Desire
    Mysterious Ways
    Bad/The Unforgettable Fire
    Breathe
    No Line on the Horizon
    The Electric Co.
    Last Night on Earth/Discotheque
    Unknown Caller
    Elevation/Pride/I Will Follow
    Stay (Faraway, So Close!)
    One
Until the End of the World
    Vertigo
    ---ENCORE---
Where the Streets Have No Name
    City of Blinding Lights
    With or Without You
    Moment of Surrender
    ---SECOND ENCORE---
    The Fly
    11 o'Clock Tick Tock

Anything with a slash and another song, I'd love for them to alternate frequently to keep it fresh, also so as not to have the same songs taking up 4 or 5 setlist spots that we've been hearing for 20 years. Two or Three of those, as long as they're switched in and out, would be nice.

  6. How do you mean? Nasty as in double-entendre nasty, or nasty as in you don't like the way it sounds?

  7. Nasty as in very very very bad attempt to derive humour from a relatively straightforward statement lol. I have a habit of this, most people on the forum would probably say likewise lol, sincere apologies lol

EDIT - I also have the unfortunate habit of inadvertantly going off-topic, so apologies to Remy et al for that too! I won't predict any new setlists 'cause we haven't got anything definitive with regard to new material to go on...
  8. Here's what I want to see.

    01. New Material
    02. New Material
    03. Vertigo
    04. Mofo//Even Better Than The Real Thing
    05. Last Night On Earth
    06. Gone
    07. New Material
    08. Wire
    09. New Material
    10. New Material
    11. Staring at The Sun (Full electric, and fast)//Mysterious Ways
    12. New Material
    13. Exit
    14. Beautiful Day
    (Triple Barell of Epic)
    15. Bad
    16. City of Blinding Lights// or ASOH
    17. Where The Streets Have No Name
    ------------

18.A Sort of Homecoming// or COBL
    19. Ultraviolet
    20. The Fly// New Material
    21. Acrobat (Cause there's always hope)

    -------------

    22. New Material
    23. New Material
    24. The Unforgettable Fire
    25. Elevation

  9. Most of these are good ideas.

One and Pride need to go.
BTBS, Elevation and SBS need a reinvention (Gimme a grungy Elevation as a Closer)

Mysterious Ways is perfect as she is.

    I strongly agree with...

Mysterious Ways being perfect on Vertigo- the other versions included too much farting around the real song, and Vertigo's just rocked.

One- I could really live with not seeing them play this live, but they must feel its their obligation. I only put it in my set because I believe that they'll play it, not because I want to hear it.

Pride- Overstayed it's welcome in the live community. Should have left after PopMart and made scarce, more inspired appearances on Elevation

Sunday Bloody Sunday- Amazing on every tour its ever been performed on except Vertigo, which means that Bono needs to take a hint and realize that they could be close to destroying one of thier masterpieces.

I DO NOT agree with Elevation needing a grunge re-working and being used as a closer, that song has always felt opener to me, and as for versions, I actually like both the Vertigo AND Elevation versions. I feel that it should be in an encore, since its been predominantly in their opening 3 for every show of 2 whole tours. Throwing it in as a early encore song would be cool.

Sorry my posts are so lengthy!
  11. I hope they seriously invert what we're expecting. Every band has a format that they stick to when choosing their setlist. I want this thing upside down and DIFFERENT. No more Beautiful Day at the beginning. Same with City- I want to see it elsewhere! CHANGE!
