    It's U2 trying to be bitterly ironic here. I think a lot of things can happen with this album now to be honest. One thing is Bono's idea behind that there were Night and Day tracks and he was trying to bridge them together somehow. The way this is done is that certain moment in time where they do blend into one (or bleed into one, hehe). That's what No Line on the Horizon means to me.

    But I also agree with you, the cover does suck. Gray gives people the feeling of emptiness, and since album art kinda gives people a visual of what the album is, and I wanna be happy listening to this stuff. Since this IS the album cover...photoshop here I come.

  4. 5/11 add Breathe, Stand Up Comedy and the punk version of NLOTH

    That's why Casper's original works so well, the album title in that fantastic font, livens up the image.

    Agreed, except for the bitterly ironic term. I think ZooTV and PopMart were bitterly ironic--bitterly in the sense that they were quite up front about stating one thing and meaning its opposite--but here, I agree it does seem like it's a mesh between those two opposites. But yeah, if that "bridge" is what's going to be reflected in the songs, hopefully it'll be a really interesting album to digest.

    No, I take them as an indicator that the album has a lively, nonserious side to it.
    And I think that this side is not well represented by the cover.

    Well, they will NOT change the cover. So you just have to live with that.

    Okay, if we suppose, there's a dark, serious side and a light, nonserious side on the album, the cover makes even more sense. The dark sea + the light sky. Both are united. (even though the light is mirrored on the dark).

    Can't believe I'm part of this nonsense.

    And I like the cover, it's just not as good as Casper's which is irksome.
