The more I listen to it, the less I like it... Would have been an amazing track if they stopped it after 1:30.

Not really..maybe Edge's riff again after the hip-hop twist..

  2. Thought of that one too. That riff sounds greasier than the previous riffs in the song, if you know what I mean.

@ Mark: Don't know, could be possible since the screenshot of Itunes didn't gave any track length. Let's hope so... Or just a different mix from the album version like Elevation
  3. if what we have is just a radio edit then it's a terrible edit.

I just get a feeling that they have purposely tried to make it sound raw and under-produced or something.

I just can't pinpoint exactly what I find wrong with the song but I just cannot like it. Urgh

I think there should be a solo before the hiphop thing...it sounds as if there has been a cut...
  5. the first radio play of Window In The Skies wasn't the same as the version that made it onto U218 remember
  6. i `love it

Don't think that this is a single edit. The track length matches with the whiteboard. I'd rather expect something from the possible remix
  9. And Vertigo wasn't a single edit either, was it?
  10. Let me try & break it down into sections....

The beginning...BAM, straight into it, no drum bit like on Vertigo, i like that, it's like a rollercoaster ride, it's starts at a hundred miles an hour, there's no turning back, that riff, thats the bit that slammed me hard against a wall, THATS going to blow the roof off stadiums, rock on. 9/10

The Verse...u2 go hip hop / funky beats, it's almost like 2 seperate songs here, i hope the band strip it down somewhat for the live version, which they probably will, but very interesting all the same. 7/10

The bridge...this is the best part, that key change, it gets back to the beginning style again, once again, will rock stadiums, everytime i hear this, it gets me extremely excited again. 10/10

The chorus...is really just an extension of the bridge, thrown in the lines "you don't know"..."you don't get it do you"..."you don't know how beautiful you are", it works that the chorus & bridge are similar, it's like merging a love song on top of a heavy metal rocker, and somehow, U2 pull it off...10/10

Instrumental break...it's very quick, the guilar riff reminds me of a 60's surf film, but it's just enough to tone back down into the next funky verse... 7/10

Let me in the sound, let me in the sound etc etc, even more hip hop that then verse, almost too hip hop for it's own good, i agree with what some else said, perhaps this part could have been shorter, it seems to drag along, all 26 seconds, perhaps 8 seconds would have done the job... 5/10

The ending, the same riff as the beginning, but with the vocals "Get on your boots", and added "YEAH HEH HEY", i like the part, this will also rock, Bono's going to get the crowd going "YEAH HEH HEY" oer again, and it's going to sound so cool.

Overall, it's finished before it begins, and that can be a good thing, it makes you want more & more, there is nothing familiar with this, yet it's very familiar at the same time, it lend various styles from past releases, it's a bit of a mixed bag of lollies, you kind of get everything in one bag, it's got Pop, a handful of Zooropa, a splash of ATYCLB & HTDAAB..

    Overall... 8/10
