Yep, he had the chance to listen to it twice. And his reviews are usually spot on. He takes off the Fan-Glasses before writing.
Overall rating: 8-9/10.
Minus: Too many ooh ooohs.
Another reviewer from a german mag calls it "the most exiting U2 work in the last 10 years".
She hears Portishead-like sounds in "Moment Of Surrender" and "Fez" Chili Peppers elements in "Stand Up Comedy" and the Stones in "Breathe".
Minus: Bono's voice gets drowned in the "Wall of Sound".
Her summary: The fan is excited - the non-fan is pleasantly surprised that one can listen to U2 in 2009 without getting aggressive.
