  3. Ok, sod it, I listened to them. I'm intrigued to say the least. Not what I was necessarily expecting BUT in a good way. NLOTH and Magnificent instantly grabbed my attention - the bit where the keys come in as Bono sings "no line on the horizon" before you hear a guitar scream into life sounded awesome, as did Magnificent's riff part. The others (save for GOYB 'cause we already know about that and I quite like it) don't sound like we have enough to actually take anything from, so I'm happy to wait until March - crap, it's only a month away now. I agree with Jeremy's comment about GOYB sounding like the obvious choice as a single, and like I said a while ago, I like that - it doesn't sound like a simple straightforward album, and I get the feeling that they have gone to siimply make music as opposed to making music that will get airtime and appeal to the casual fan. I'm not saying the latter won't be the case in time, BUT I think that there's promise - we could be in for exciting times.

    EDIT - Being Born sounded awesome, and Bono's singing in Breathe made me think of Dylan...the bit about 'a cockatoo' etc., dunno.

    EDIT (2) - just read Yeah's thoughts lol! Classic...
  4. I can't even believe it! I just listened to 30 second samples of the new U2 on Walmart.com!!!!!! I found out about it on atu2.com.....check it out if you haven't already!

    I will say that hearing them was not what I was expecting. I'm reserving FINAL judgment until I can hear the whole album straight through, but I was expecting to be blown away and I definitely wasn't.

    I think, because I wasn't expecting anything (i.e. ignoring all the hype), I was pleasantly surprised. Still doubt it'll ever top AB or JT as vying for their best album tag, but I'm happy to give it a chance.
