    The chorus didn't went as it should be. Bono is out of tone, so is Edge. But still, overall it is pretty good for a first time. The guitar, the verses, the drums, bass and the let me in the sound make it all good for me.

    I personally preferred the Father Christmas cover for Bono's vocal performance, the way he nailed "I wished you a hopefuly Christmas" blew me away. The Mandela performance was pretty good, but as I say, I prefer the former.

    Back on topic though, the mix was probably the worse thing about GOYB at the Grammys - Edge wasn't loud enough for half of it, guitar + vox (especially the "you don't know how beautiful you are" parts), but it still instilled me with a lot of hope for what's to come. His playing itself was great, as was Bono's performance - love some of the grit he was coming out with, and Larry + Adam were clinical.
  4. Edge and Bono were both getting too high on the chorus. Sounds awful. That's the only part that is less good than the studio version. That short solo is great live. More echo and wah or something like that.
  5. I just wonder why they didn't start the studio version with the 'let me in the sound'-part before kicking in with the riff. It's so much better...

    Hmm... I don't know. The beginning with drums and guitar is great on the studio version, as is the lalalaal/let me in the sound live....
  7. We open with U2 premiering a new song. Since we don't know the words, they put them on a big video screen behind them so the audience could sing along. Don't worry, it's easier than it sounds, since the new song has the same melody as R.E.M.'s "It's The End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)". Except this song is way better, cause it has lines like "I got gasoline / You got a submarine / I don't want to talk about wars between nations". He's lying, he totally does. Also, when Bono began to move we were concerned that he had been in an accident. Turns out that's just how Bono dances now.
