Of course this only works if the humbucker has split option (i.e. 4 wires).

As far as I know this is the standard wiring for the strats with humbuckers. At least on all guitars og this kind that I have played.
  2. i like how raw the edgeputitdown guitar part for Magnificent sounded. on the walmart clip it was all polished up its not a bad thing but its become more of a pop track than i remember from the BC and the Edgeputitdown clip.

Could be. I just realize right now that I've never played a stock SSH or HSH strat, so I can't confirm that.

  4. Hey guys. My AC30 is currently undergoing repairs, so my bro lent me his Marshall MG50DFX. Apparently these things aren't considered good amps, the MGDFX series, but the OD on this amp is to die for. I made a little demo with Electric Co. being my guineau pig or however you spell it. Check it out!
I used my Gibson Explorer, my Tonelab with the Memory Man sim, and a little bit of TS-9, into the Marshall. The majority of the OD you hear is the amp though.

Sounds pretty Edge-y! What delay setting did you use?
  7. It was the "mod delay" in the "modulation" section of the Tonelab which I believe is a Memory Man sim. So it really captures that Boy delay in my opinion!
    Thanks for the comments guys!
  8. Items used for "Get On You Boots"?

From some stills that were emailed to me by someone on U2 Rec... Looks like:

Death By Audio "SuperSonic Fuzz Gunn"
    Death By Audio "Harmonic Transformer"
    Electro-Harmonix POG

  9. From the stills that someone posted at U2 Rec Yahoo Group, it looks like Edge is using at least (2) Death By Audio pedals for "...Boots..." at the Grammys.

    DEATH BY AUDIO HARMONIC TRANSFORMER:
Link below has information about the pedal AND a video sample of the pedal.
Death By Audio Harmonic Transformer Fuzz

DEATH BY AUDIO SUPERSONIC FUZZ GUN:
Link below has information about the pedal AND a video sample of the pedal.
Death By Audio Supersonic Fuzz Gun

The picture I saw also showed a:
    ELECTRO-HARMONIX POG:
Electro Harmonix POG Polyphonic Octave Generator

Darn that The Edge! All of these pedals are pricey!
DEATH BY AUDIO HARMONIC TRANSFORMER - $300.00
DEATH BY AUDIO SUPERSONIC FUZZ GUN - $270.00
    ELECTRO-HARMONIX POG - $324.00

TOTAL? $994.00 NOT including any tax or shipping. High prices but VERY cool sounds!
  10. yea the POG is on my list of pedals to get. I love the sound you can achieve from that thing. You can get a ricky sound through a les paul or a strat through that pedal, it's awesome. As for the other pedals, don't know really anything about them. I hadn't heard of them up until this album was being made. Sure have cool names though! Fuzzgun.
  11. Not sure you will get a 'true' Ric 12-string sound but if you have the POG and (1) guitar you can at mimic a 12-string to some extent. But yeah, the POG is a great device.

A friend of mine has a Death By Audio Supersonic Fuzz Gun... sounds cool as heck! Save your pennys, it's time for new toys for the pedalboard!

haha. I'm in the middle of saving up for a strat, a new ipod, repairs on my current strat, a couple video games, and sooooooooo on.

    The fuzzgun can wait
