1. NLOTH has restarted to grow on me again... great song. I'm not gonna give any marks so... but GOYB is slightly better imo.

For me, and I'm sure I'm not alone on this, GOYB seems much longer than it's acctually is. 3 minutes would have been more than enough. NOLTH2 is a much more fresch sounding song and is by far better. 4 minutes but feels like 2½.
    Boots 5.5/10
    NL2 7.5/10

True, I forgot that they aren't going to play it live. But the album versions has the same singing so it's still going to be hard for him to translate it live.

GOYB's chorus is the main reason why I am rather indifferent towards the song, NLOTH2 has a better chorus although it's too repetitive, needs more variation, the bridge sucks, and his singing falls to pieces in the second half of the song.

If the album version fixes these problems, it will be a personal favourite of mine, as I think the concept is very good.

  3. I hope Bono won't beat the shit out of me, and send me to El Salvator in box, but that's just that guys opinion.

IMO, after about 25 listens, NLOTH2 is a little bit to aggressive to my ears. But from 45 seconds of album version I listened after I heard NLOTH2 I believe album version will be great.
  4. My only problem with the track is the random tweety thingy. It starts at 0:31, and goes on for too long. It does sound cool for a while though.
  5. NLOTH-8.7
    GOYB-8.2
  6. haha tweety .. i love that thing ... think its the eno-lanois freakoutatwork
it sounds very large, with loads of room for surprises, subtle synths are added etc ..
the first few seconds are almost dire straits walk of life ... then it turns around ... towards achtung-baby-sound with early days fast energetic drive ... oh those bloody words when it comesm to music ...
the amazing drumming around 2.25 and it doesnt stop .. this shakes any stadium ... !!!
maybe the words nolineonthehorizon will catch up for me with the rest of the track, but I like it ... it truelly rocks, they could even invite mick jagger to come and sing along owoeohohohooooo
two very interesting tracks sofar ....
  7. Anyone know where I could hear either or both versions of NLOTH? Should this be done by PM?
  8. Listened to NLOTH2 yesterday maybe 3-4 times and my reaction afterward was kind of "Blah." Then, I played it again today just for the heck of it, and am astounded. Holy crap, this is good! I already think it's better than ANYTHING on HTDAAB and it's only a B-side. I can't wait to hear the new album now, because I can't stop listening to this. I must've played it like 20 times in a row now, and I still can't stop. I'd feel pretty weird about saying that normally, but seeing how this is a U2 forum, I think that others could probably understand this behavior somewhat, lol. :-)

  9. I don't think that the album version is leaked. Mininova has b-side, which can be accessed by using a torrent system, I use utorrent. Remy shut down the e-mail request thread, so PM is the only method, though it will get frowned upon, so pm me your e-mail if you want it.

    Agree
    GOYB: 8,5/9
    NLOTH 2: 7/7,5 (keeping in mind it's a B-side)
