I would expect No Line on The Horizon to be between 4. Zooropa and 5. War.

I understand people are being sentimental, but come on.
Zooropa while not perfect, was a great experimental album that produced some truly innovative, standout songs
eg. Stay, Lemon, Zooropa, The Wanderer, Numb.
Boy was a debut album made by a bunch of 18 year olds with an inexperienced producer, Zooropa was made by a band at their prime with one of the all time producing greats.
Putting Boy in front of Zooropa doesn't add up to me.

Personal taste
Status were U2 were at that moment of the recording (circumstances)
Define an U2 'standard' and then rate every U2 album from the point of this standard
Could be a great discussion.
We can do this very detailed: see which kind of songs there are on the album and compare them with other albums.
Originally posted by Hans23:Define a U2 standard, I would say Between 1987 and 1993, not sure how you rate over albums around that though, i'm pretty sure it was their most creative era, Album wise and Recording, I don;t think anything they've done since then has really match that.

There's the problem: you can't set a standard. You think it's their most creative period, and most other people probably think so too. But others might disagree, which causes the standard to not be a standard for those people. It all comes down to personal taste, there's no other way of rating these albums.
