    I don't read them, not because i'm trying to avoid them, but because I don't have clue what their talking about, not hearing the songs makes them irrelevant to me.

  6. My thoughts exactly. That's not to say I think any the less of those who've taken advantage of the leak, they're entirely free to do so and it's their prerogative, I'm just quite happy to wait until I get my hands on the actual official release

    Same as Daley, I've not ventured to have a look 'cause it would be futile - I've only heard the 30 second clips and they've whetted the appetite but it's just made me eager to wait for the release proper, rather than want to listen to them this very instant. I love U2 pretty much above all other artists etc. but there's so much out there to check out that I don't feel like I'm missing out at all.

    I check out the stuff about the album as a whole, but that is about it. Most people on this site are a little too hardcore for my liking. Over analyze everything. It has actually been refreshing just talking to people on this thread.

    I personally think that U2start is one of the more moderate fans' forums doing the rounds these days, compared to somewhere like Interference...

    Didn't mean that in a negative way. I really like it here and most everyone has been really friendly to me. I really don't know interference that well so I can't comment.

    I just can't really get into the dissecting of each song, what the running order should have been, why this b-side is better then the actual tune on the album, what would the album be like without this song type of conservastion. I prefer more basic conversation about the album as a whole. I thought I was a huge U2 fan until I joined this site. Most everyone here knows way more then me and it can get a little intimidating at times.

    I don't think you shouldn't feel you aren't a huge U2 fan because you might not be that 'in the know' unlike some here. I think I was a fairly big fan even before I found this place, but because of this site and talking to great people from all over the place, sharing opinions/experiences etc., I've become an even bigger fan and still am. I don't know everything there is to know about the band and their music, and I think the chances are that there are very few (if any) who know nigh on everything, but I think that's what it is to be a music fan - you're learning and developing all the time, and that's a big part of the fun. I remember when I first started taking part here on the forums, and I know exactly what you mean, but I think you just need to throw the apprehension to one side and jump into the deep end

    I hear you brother. Thanks for this post. Most of my friends are not huge U2 fans so I really like the online community in my life to get my U2 fix. I will try jumping right in once I here the new album......... in 10 days
