1. For those of you who are disappointed for now, I ask you, give it some more time. U2 has done this from time to time, presented us with something different and asked to open up our ears, minds, and hearts. There are some fantastic songs here. Let them slowly work into you veins and then come back to this thread in a month or 2.
  2. History will record this album as U2s' "woh oh oh oh oh" years.
  3. I really think I cannot judge this album before the upcoming tour start.
Actually, for me personally, 99% of U2 experience is live, and even the albums I usually judge bearing in mind how well this or that song was performed live.
I really dislike studio version of Bad, but live it's completely different animal.
I also dont like studio version of Ultraviolet, while live right now it is my favourite U2 song of all times.
So can I say that Bad and Ultraviolet are not good songs? Judging by studio records yes, but live it's pure brilliance!
So I will wait until the tour and then we'll see. I am 100% positive that some songs will be GREATLY improved live (ex: Stand Up Comedy).

The live functionality would either improve or reduce my faith in the songs.
  5. Though honestly I am not sure how Bono's going to pull off most of the albums's tracks on the stage. Most of the songs will be extremely difficult for him to sing
  6. No. The problem is that he actually CAN, but... WILL he, when the tour arrives? That's the real problem

  7. Don't think so. I believe he kills his voice if he tries to.
  8. Some songs will have their key changed when played live to make it possible for Bono to sing them
  9. I really hope so... If not, the songs will be fucked up... unless Bono's guitar skills have improved a lot, and he can become the main guitar player, while Edge carries up wth the whole vocal job
  10. Let Larry sing. All the girls would love to see him in the front.
  11. They could swap after each song
