1. Mine's pretty short and sweet this time.

    Performance

A rough but excitable performance very early on in the War Tour as the lads were probably still fine-tuning their new material live. Gloria is such a versatile track that is really at home anywhere in the set and that includes show opener, it's a really great one. The setlist in fact is not your usual War fare with New Year's Day making an earlyish appearance, Surrender way down the order, A Celebration making a rare appearance and the show seemed to flow pretty good.

This was also really a no-nonsense gig with Bono shying away from chatter and just rolling with tracks one after the other. I felt Sunday Bloody Sunday was a little clumsy, maybe they were still getting to know the song but there were plenty of high points to make up for it such as Electric Co. as usual, a nice celtic sounding Tomorrow, two of my early faves A Day Without Me and I Fall Down.

    Audience

Edinburgh. Have they ever been a bad crowd I ask?

    4 stars

    Sound

A good one. A few dips in volume but pretty clear.

    Overall

A good early War bootleg, but go down to later gigs for more polished performances

  2. Yep, review coming, possible today but most certainly by tomorrow
  3. It seems everyone else who hasn't posted could do with another week to pull their finger out, what with all the excitement of the past week. Agreed?

  4. Yes please. Kind of got lost with it this last week.....

    Can't think why.....

  5. Ok, everyone's still got this week to post. No new selection this week.

    Performance

Typical performance we have come to expect from these early tours, lots of shouting and just plain rocking out, especially in Songs such as 11 O'clock, I Will Follow, Seconds and Gloria, though, as Aussiemofo suggested some songs were still a bit sketchy early on in the tour. My favourites from this gig include Out of Control and '40'. Out of Control has showed why it keeps popping up on some of the later tours, its a real rock out song that can be play to its potential anywhere, though today wasn't the best performance, it stood out. '40' seemed very simplistic, quite and a great show closer, though it would have been nice for it to have been extended

    4 stars

    Audience

Like the TUF gig that was on the roundtable last summer, the crowd really stood up and made themselves heard, though they still have a long way to go to match last weeks Italian audience. It would have been nice if they has sang along to '40' a bit more.

    4 stars

    Sound

A bit quite and Muffled, but a true 4 star recording, everyone was clear and audible, though in places the Edge was a bit quite when singing.

    Highlights:

    '40'
    Out of Control
    Surrender
    11 O'clock Tick Tock
