1. So, some new performances, some new gear to ramble on about in this topic

GOYB was performed with the same cream Tele, and Breathe got a gorgeous sunburnt Epiphone Casino Any tips on the model or so? (I only have seen Edge playing a Casino on the All Because Of You videoclip's recording in New York, and that was a Natural Finish one, not a sunburnst - any ideas?).

PS - Is www.u2sound.com working anymore?

He played the same/similar Casino for ABOY during the Vertigo tour aswell as the full electric performances of WGRYWH, not to mention the CD:UK performance of Miracle Drug. I have a feeling we might be seeing more of it this time around

That and the lovely cream Telecaster. Oh guitar goodness

  4. I'd rather have the Casino to be honest, but sod it, can't deny that Teles. have class

  5. I must say--my Telecaster was an extension of my arms until I got my Casino. Whereas the Telecaster is fairly predictable, I find the Casino to be a bit rawer and have more character...if that makes sense. Both are wonderful instruments but there's something about the warm hearty sound of a Tele into my Vox AC50...with a touch of the Ibanez Tube Screamer...and delay

The same could be said of my Explorer; I've only had it a couple of weeks now but already I've fallen in love with it in a way I never quite have with my Les Paul. I mean, I like my LP (it's currently in hospital being seen to, dodgy pickup selector among the main problems - nothing unexpected seeing as I never had it properly set-up when I first got it, considering I got it as it was when it left the Epiphone factory, and less said there the better ) but the Explorer is another beast altogether. Much cleaner tone, much more bite - hook it up through my FX kit and my 20w Yamaha practice amp and there's some groovy tones coming out of that mother

    All for £255 aswell...

My checklist is currently at getting a better amp., although guitars-wise I'm paying a bit more heed to Yamaha axes right now, the latest Pacifica especially although I'm fascinated by some of their hollow-body ranges too...

...a Casino would, however, quite frankly, be awesome.

    *hint hint...*

Did Adam win Lotto? Or a bass guitar buying spree? (The Warwicks, the tobacco Rivoli, the burgundy mist Fender Jazz bass, the sherwood green Fender Precision...)

played the Jazz in France/ so I guess he is feeling them out.(played a white P-Bass for Breathe) 4 different basses so far for Boots. That is a constant riff he plays on that song. He might be finding the most comfortable bass to play. As a bass player that does come into your mind when playing a song. I do like the Yellow Glitter bass from the Obama Inag. the best so far.

Why not rehearsing privately and see what's more comfortable, and then just play with it?

  9. Perhaps he just wants to make us all jealous with his variety of basses lol...

  10. He wants to show us all of his new toys!

And did that other person basically say why didn't Adam try them privately? Really? After 30+ years are we gonna tell U2 how to be U2?

(Just messin' with you, no harm - no foul)

I think it is good that he seems to be getting more into his gear and bass playing - and experimenting with various gear.

There are some great bass grooves on this "No Line On The Horizon" album. And I'm loving it!

    Hell to the yeah!

  11. SO far...

    Grammys: Tobacco Sunburst Epiphone Rivoli
Brit Awards: Natural finish Epiphone Rivoli
Echo Awards: Natural-ish finish Fender Precision
Grand Journal TV show: Burgundy mist finish Fender Jazz (seen in loads of the U2.com videos whilst making the album) AND a white Fender Precision bass for "Breathe".

    Nice!
