1. They already suffer from major overexposure. I am so sick of Bono it hurts. He does the same moves for the last 10 years, all these "safe" songs are practically the same song reworked just to claim it is "new" material. Play the real "cutting edge" stuff and you may get some more fans rather than lose a bunch of fans who are sick of hearing the same old stuff.
I have many friends who always say all u2 songs are the same. I can't argue with them because they hear only the singles and I agree all the singles are basically the same
songs over and over and over.

What's the point of having junk songs as singles if it gets no airplay because they are junk?

We know they are doing this massive TV promotion because they know GOYB has not been received well by fans and radio. I have no doubt Breathe will also be a failure.
If you want people to have some interest in you, then play the new "radical" stuff you are writing not these sub par U2 rip offs of their old stuff

Bollocks. The most of the promotion stuff was planned before the release of GOYB. And almost 90% of the pop music is junk and that gets loads of airplay too.
I have also friends who said U2's music is not different. I let them listen to some various albums as JT, AB, Zooropa, POP, ATYCLB and they can't say that anymore. They even quite liked some songs.

  3. Even Pride. It's a great song, but it's just overplayed. But if you hear it for the first time it's great.

Then stop listening to them and the pain will go away. I mean, why to torture yourself. Download the new Take That album and enjoy in life.
  5. I already have started doing that. I don't listen to U2 anymore and after checking out the new album, I won't be buying it or listening to it. Looks like a lot of people are sick of U2
and the sheep who follow them and claim eveyrthing they do is gold, even when they release dirt as singles.

Bye u2 and go do your Good Morning America concert and prove that you are the sellouts that all "real" u2 fans have said you have become. You continually ruin the reputation you had. I for one, don't consider U2 a great band anymore and by the looks of the sales and concerts for the last 10 years , most people agree.

I heard they are trying to play stadiums again in the USA. That will be another big embarassment like it was for popmart. They will have half empty stadiums like they did for Popmart. And then Bono's big ego will be cut down like it was after the Popmart debacle.

Bold part: who's the sheep now?

Seriously, you don't come to U2 forum to discuss about U2 if you don't listen to them and hate them to the bones. Find another band that you'll like and be happy.

PopMart was huge success everywhere except America. When NLOTH tour in N. America begins come back and we'll discuss it. I'm pretty sure that it will be big success.

  9. Who told you that singles should be their best songs?
I'm really really glad that Bad, The Electric Co., Seconds, MLK, BTBS, RTSS, Exit, Zoo Station, Ultraviolet, Acrobat, UTEOTW, Dirty Day, Zooropa, Your Blue Room, Slug, Do You Feel Loved, Mofo, Gone, Miami, Wake Up Dead Man, WILATW, POE, Kite, IALW, Miracle Drug, LAPOE, Yahweh and One Step Closer weren't singles.
Cause now they're still little gems for the hardcore fan.

The singles they pick are for a general pop-audience. Kite is a beauty, but would it really fit as a popular song? Too slow methinks.
Bad is great, but would it be played by the radio? Too long methinks.
BTBS is a nice tune, but would it fit on MTV? Too hard methinks.

Singles aren't necesarrily the best song. And they're not weak either btw.
Mysterious Ways, The Fly, One, Pride, TUF, IWF, Streets, ISHFWILF, WOWY, BD, Stay, LNOE, Please, Elevation, Vertigo, COBL, OOTS, all great tunes, all rock live...

BTW Remarkble how many times you can use the word 'Fool' in one post

In the beginning you made some valid points. But if you are so sick of U2 why did register here?
Popmart was everything but an embarrassment. In Europe the tour was huge and a lot of tickets were sold.

But i still agree with you that GYOB is not the best song of the album and another single probably would have worked better.

Lets keep it nice and easy here
  11. well the facists have spoken! You can't criticize the messiah's, right? Funny how U2 fans like you claim to admire how Bono speaks out politically and bashes everyone and yet when someone bashes Bono, we are told to get off the forum, like the little facists you truly are.

I was into u2 when the Boy album came out so I have as much right as anyone to say what I want. It was people like me who made U2 the success they are today. You are probably one of the sheep who jumped on the band wagon after they became mega stars.

I am going to love wathcin g this tour because in the USA, U2 are pretty much irrelevant.
They get very llittle radio airplay even with the tons of promotion. In the 80;s and 90s there was very little promotion and they were mega stars because the music was great. Now the music sucks so we have the hype machine to drum up ticket sales. But mark my words, they will play to empty stadiums if they try to fill 70,000 venues. I for one, am not going to sit so far away from the stage to listen to GYOB or anything from the last 10 years. I did it for Joshua tree and Zoo TV but no way will I do it for the junk they are releasing for the last 10 years.

You ae the bomb dude. Wanna join the crew? We love your comments. Highly ammusing. You come to a U2 forum to bash the band and hurl abuse at the other members here so take some back.
