    I have. I disagree. I think there's a lot of sonic backdrop (ala So Cruel). I love the emotion in the voice. Bono's best vocal for donkey's.

    Lyrics up there with One and WOWY never really made sense anyway.

    It seriously could go on longer for me. Bit like Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen/Jeff Buckley).

    It's a very grown-up, soulful song. Maybe that's the issue for you?
  2. Meh, it still hasn't grown on me properly, I don't like it very much except from the solo. I thought it would be much better when it was said to be like One and WOWY

    I like So Cruel, the piano backdrop in MoS is not as interesting as the one in So Cruel which has clear hooks.

    And I like their mature songs, basically all their dark/serious/sombre songs I like,
    eg. WOWY, One, Acrobat, LIB, RTSS, WTSHNN, ISHFWILF, Exit, TUF, AIWIY, VDL, Heartland, Hawkmoon, Stay, the Wanderer, Miss Sarajevo, Velvet Dress, Wake Up Dead Man, The Ground Beneath Her Feet.

    It's some of the lighter ones that I have a harder time liking.

  6. I love it more and more, it's growing from a great song to an U2 classic (in my own list of classics ).

    Today listening it for the third time I thought about this song as a concert closer, in the same line as closers Bad was in. The long outro, the "oh's" in the outro and the great music playing there. It flows so well. I would love to see this.

  8. Might be the best song on the album. I still prefer Breathe but 'MOS' is second now and certainly not far behind.

    You know I think the main reason Brian Eno likes this song so much, is because it was improvised and recorded in one take.

    This is the man behind Elvis Presley and America after all.

    And the man behind the Ambient series as well as a certain recent album and some of U2's greatest work.

  12. You're misunderstanding me, I like Brian Eno.

    I meant he is predisposed to liking songs that came about via strange/quirky circumstances.
    I bet his favourite song off VLV is Chinese Sleep Chant, because it was written under hypnosis.
