1. U2 said that they would never have anyone sponsoring their tour, but here it is. The obvious question, why? It's easy, with this financial crisis U2 wants to offer cheap tickets. They can't do that without a sponsor.

How do you guys think about this, a sponsor for the tour? Would anyone rather pay higher ticket prices?
  2. I think it's a good call. If it means 30-40% cheaper tickets I'm all for it.
  3. If the lower ticket prizes are a result of this sponsorship: good deal.
  4. I thought MacDonalds sponsored the PopMart-tour?

    I think it's good stuff
Cheaper tickets is better for us

  5. Could you get anymore lame? haha
    Cheaper tickets are better indeed
  6. "This tour announcement marks the first stage of a relationship and shared vision between Blackberry and U2 that we expect will lead to new and innovative ways to enhance the mobile music experience on the BlackBerry platform for U2 fans," added Paul McGuinness. “We look forward to sharing more details as the relationship unfolds."
  7. Good thing, they do that in order to keep tickets affordable for everyone, that is GREAT. I'm all for it

The U2 Blackberry, customised text messages from Edge in the morning and mobile streaming of some shows. And some cheaper tickets.

    i wish

  10. Actually, that almost doesn't sound that far-fetched. I wonder if there's going to be some interaction between the band/concert and fans via mobiles.
  11. its great, to have a sponsor(blackberry); for tickets and for future gadgets with u2!

would love to see the u2 blackberry!
  12. Now I think of it...a sponsor is great, but I hope Bono won't make advertisement for them...
Can you hear Unknown Caller? RESTART, REBOOT YOUR BLACKBERRY
All I want is Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaackberry, terrible

On a more serious note tough, this does mean we WILL get a lot of advertisements and, if we're unlucky, they'll have a huge Blackberry zeppelin flying into the stadium during the encore
