    And what about Oasis' Wonderwall?
Or maybe 40 (a la Bad and Streets on the Elevation tour)

    Wonderwall...dude that's genius!
40 could work to, and like you said, it could go into Streets...
Or All I Want is You could also do that That would be cool

    Maybe Stay?Could work
  4. Well, I've been waiting and have been listening to this song, before I posted here.
This is my Moment of Surrender story.

From the moment it transmitted through my ears and hit my brain, it also hit my heart.
It's the first U2 Song that has ever hit me so close. So close to my heart, my life, it actaully brought me to tears, which has never been done before with a U2 Song.

The day I heard the album was a busy day and I woke up extra early to get the album the day it was released. I remember sitting in the car, parked, listening to this song for the first time. The lyrics penetrated through me, the emotion of Bono's voice was so intense and Edge's guitar so hopeful, yet so full of pain.

    When Bono sings,
"At the Moment of Surrender I did not notice the passers-by and they did not notice me."
This is So Deep, So Pure, So True...
I can relate to this song on many levels and I can connect with the spiritual side of it. Where for me, Well........ I Have had my Own Moment of Surrender.

Then as I read through my copy of Rolling Stone, where the article talks about this song and how Bono recieved the inspiration from AA. It goes on to say that he himself has had to deal with addiction and how Adam has as well. I have had to deal with my own demons and addictions in my life, and so have others in my family.

What I love most about this song is that reminds me of the promise I have to myself and to my God. It also brings the idea that I am not alone, in my life struggles and that the deepest, innermost pain is not just my own. Others have, are now, or are going to experience such things.
There is also hope in this song. Where Bono says, "Vision over visibility", which for me means, 'Don't just see because I can. See what is beyond what is in front of me. The whole picture, Look past what's in front and look foward to what's beyond."

I feel I had to write this, had to get out. My apologies for a long post and for being so sentimental, but this song has a lot of meaning for me and I am very Thankful and Greateful that U2 have the courage to sing and play songs that touch people on such a personal level.
This is why I LOVE this Band!!

  5. Not so sure I have the feeling it wouldn't
    Maybe Please?

  6. Don't apologize at all It was a beautiful post. You're right, it's the songs like this that make U2 such a great band, because they can connect with us on these emotional levels

  7. Yeah, I was trying to figure out if it could, but I don't really know...*ponders*

You made me love the song even more now Nice post man, don't apologize for it

  9. I really think there is no need for snippets in this song. Would be unnecessery IMO.

  10. True, the lyrics speak for itsself
But the song has a lenghty instrumental and knowing Bono...

  11. For my personal taste, they need to come up with a snippet to go with this song, on the first tour at least. With or Without You, played live for me is always best when Shine Like Stars is included, and i loved unchained melody tossed onto the end of one. If we're going to compare this song to the likes of those two, live at least, it needs to feature an equally outstanding snippet.

That said i have absolutely no suggestions
