For obvious reasons I think we'll most likely get to hear Elevation (Tomb Raider Mix), Walk on (Single Mix or Hallelujah Mix), Vertigo, SYCMIOYO, WITS, TSAC, GOYB and Magnificient on the next "Best of" album. These are eight songs. Everything else will depend on a few things yet undeciced.
If "Songs of Ascent" turns out to become "Songs of Absence" the open slots could be filled by ABOY, COBL, the next two NLOTH singles and two newly recorded bonus tracks - but I doubt this would be an overall satisfying collection. It'd be assembled mostly from just two albums. On "Best of 1990-2000" they had at least two new songs, two Non- U2- Album tracks and four new mixes.
I could be wrong, of course. They decided to drop Fly, Lemon, LNOE and TGBHF from the last one but included First Time and Gone. Who'd have guessed that?
