    Breathe I can agree on as well, its classic U2 sound
    But I dont personally consider GOYB to scream U2

  3. If you ask me GOYB was their only hope for a single off this album. Most of them are too long / too mellow / too 'experimental' to be radio singles. The only other one that might have some hope at being a single is NLOTH. As has already been said, this is not an album for the charts. Seems to me they made the album they wanted to make and to hell with the charts. I think they're allowed to do that at this point in their careers.

    By the same token, I'm not sure they've fully realized that the album they wanted to make was going to be as commercially unpopular as it seems to be. But I think when you're pushing 50, with 12 albums full of hits, it's okay to make music for the sake ofmusic.

    I'll admit, this is not one of my favorite U2 albums but I applaud them for making it.

    Mellow? haha I thought the song is kind of up spirit
    Too experimental I disagree on that, its too classic of U2 sound at least personally for me to be experimental
    Maybe the intro of the song but when it kicks in its old school

    The edit is not THAT bad.
    Nothing wrong with lyrics in this song at all IMO, very beautiful.

    I think Crazy Tonight is very U2ish (if were talking about new U2) could easily fit in ATYCLB or HTDAAB. Very catchy too.

    Breathe would also have been a good choice, but perhaps not for a lead single, it's more like the COBL of the album.

    I agree than NLOTH isn't catchy enough (the chorus is dull), Magnificent is probably too much like 80s U2, I don't know if there's still a taste for that in the general public.

    I think UC would have made a good single too (maybe not lead), it certainly is catchy, and they could easily shorten the intro (but they might have to shorten the solo as well, because it's quite a long song).
  11. It seems that U2 always do huge stadium tours when the album isnt really geared for it. (sales and critics wise) POPmart and Pop werent THAT successful and NLOTH and Get on Your Boots arent catching fire like Beautiful Day or Vertigo. I think the Vertigo tour should have been 100 percent stadiums and this tour should be indoors.

    The sold out stadiums in Europe suggest otherwise. I know the USA is supposed to be 'different' but i think U2 will manage to survive this tour.

    And if it is as good as popmart i will be sorry i only bought tickets for 2 shows
