Look closer at Blackberry and how far they reach up the business chain - bet you at some point they're conglomerately involved in the pharmaceutical business and are helping to make sure that poor African people (among others) can't afford/get cheap HIV medication. Merely the tip of the iceberg, no doubt. Square that, Bono. They're in bed with Satan and it does them no favours at all.

Don't go then and stop whingening!!!!

U2 have never sold out before and will never sell out in the future. The deal has obviously helped lower the ticket prices so what's the problem? Some fans are never happy. They complain about expensive prices, they complain about the album in 5 formats, etc Just don't buy the album and don't buy the tickets. I just don't care and am just fed up with all the whingers. I was totally against Larry's comments about some fans in 2005 but now I believe he was 100% correct!!!!

You couldn't care less how the tour is sponsored? So if it was sponsored by Pfizer, that would be okay, would it? Or what if Coca-Cola were to jump on board? Highlighting the hypocrisy of multi-millionaires bowing down to 'sponsorship' is not whinging, it's just bloody obvious, isn't it?

I think no-one really enjoys having a sponsor, but I think most people look at it from their own position: as costumers of tickets. Cheaper tickets are for most people, including me, more important then feeling letdown because of a small commercial before and after the show...
The songs will be the same, the guitars will be the same, the lyrics will be the same, the bandmembers are still the same, the stage looks magnificent. We just have a small icon saying 'sponsered by Blackberry'...I couldn't care less.

As long as the band continue to produce quality songs and quality tours I just don't care if it is sponsored. That's just my opinion. If it makes the tickets cheaper then I am all for it. How many artists tours are being sponsored but yet the tickets still cost a fortune? I can think of lots. Can you? If you have a problem, don't go. Simple as that!!!!

  5. But how many acctually uses these phones? Quite unknown brand, at least here in Sweden.

  6. I'm all for it. Had a BB for about 6 years. Love it. And add in the fact, hopefullly, it will make the tickets cheaper, then great news.

  7. Blackberry is a business-brand actually. They produce consumer-models but unlike Apple's iPhone they don't focuse that much on consumers as they focus on business-people.

  8. Blackberry is huge here in the US.

Exactly. Works very nice for businesses espescially when you combine it with a BES.

Actually, that almost doesn't sound that far-fetched. I wonder if there's going to be some interaction between the band/concert and fans via mobiles.

You were able to send text messages via your mobile & they were shown on the screens at the Vertigo tour.I think i have read that they may well do the same this time around, plus i have also read about fans sending in videos in of themselves may be used too. Can't say i would send in a vid of my ugly mug in though, everyone would walk out!

  11. And in the UK. They are the best phones about I reckon. Hope they think up something decent as I am sick of all the new gaddets/applications all being on the iPhone!
  12. At the end of the day, beelzebub himself could sponsor the tour for all i care.As long as they put on a great show, that's all i care about. In the grand scheme of things on planet earth, does it really matter if the tour is sponsored? We have cheap tickets for this tour, to which i am grateful for, if there was no sponsorship from Blackberry, maybe a lot of us wouldn't be going to a show at all.

    Just enjoy the show!
