I threw praise at this song big time at the start. Now though I have to take a bit back. The song is great. What i'm missing though is a bit of a climax. The song is over in no time with no real highs or lows and just a mediocre chorus. I think its a no go in the live arena
  2. First of all: Good job crew (especially Dan and Gerard in this case)
And now back to the more relevant talks:

Yep, 7 minutes, doesn't bore a bit tough
I even dare to say that this is one of Edge's best solo's ever and it might be the best of this album (Unknown Caller being the other competitor)

I will say that the one down side for me (but it's small) is the end. It fizzles a little after the guitar with some random effects and I do wonder if that is a result of the one-take thing. It's not enough to ruin it, but I agree that the ending could have been a little stronger.

In two minds about live. It could be JT/Zoo-TV WOWY or 'Do You Here Us'-era One if they get it right.

It could be SYCMIOYO if they don't.

Well the solo and the outro are good, but nothing matches the guitar work on Boots, Breathe, Magnificent and NLOTH. It's just the overall atmosphere of this song what makes it a masterpiece.

It's the vocals. They are low on volume but he is belting them out. He cannot do that live

    Very very very indeed

The only thing I still dislike is the completely non-rhythm (0:00 => 0:08) intro. Hate it. From there, I like the organ intro a bit, but only when Larry and Adam come in at 00:46 I completely love the song

Well, I'm a huge fan of short, laid-back, bluesy guitar solo's, so that might be it.
Agree with you on Boots and Breathe, altough the solo's there aren't really that good IMO (Boots doesn't even have one really)

Which is exactly what they will struggle to reproduce live.

I just don't see them leaving it in the locker though. They will try and pull it out. I agree with Ger that the voice will struggle.

At least they'll miss that bit out live

You've been influenced by Vanquish, you're starting to hate it..that's wrong!

Kidding..I still think it's great. It's not in the same boat as WOWY, but it's getting near...very near
  11. Boots has the overall riff which kicks-ass and Breathe has the riff+kinda solo+outro which are one of Edge's best imo. I'm very curious how they will play this live...it's all about the singing indeed. I'm sure they will try it, but I'm afraid of another Do You Feel Loved-debacle.

Well, they're allowed to kick it out right after they passed Amsterdam AND they've put it on the official dvd
