There are many people like me who have been devoted fans for over half my life who now because of many reasons (health) being biggest cannot wait in line for days and nights but can pay a little extra because I took the time over the last 4 years of waiting for the next tour to set aside money for the purpose of getting the best I can and enjoy the shows I can get to.
What about all the people who travel the world seeing 25, 30 even 40 or more shows in a tour, this obviously takes money and I don't hear a lot of people complaining about them being rich stuffy non fans, or how about the people that buy tons of tickets just to turn around and sell them at 10 times or more their face value just to make a buck off of us devoted fans? I for one would much rather see my money not only give me a great night out, but go to help towards a charity as well.
There is still GA, people will still be able to get up to the stage, the product RED zones are smaller areas to the sides of the stage......wake up people and pay attention instead of jumping to conclusions that you are all getting ripped off! U2 are one of very few bands who truly appreciate their fan base and know we are the reason they are still doing what they love.
I hope everyone who is going to a show has the time of their lives as I always have at U2 shows and know that just getting any ticket sometimes is a blessing......

PS Which gig are you going too?

at this point we are for sure doing Chicago and Boston, most likely NYC , then since we are in Oregon, LA as well.
I cannot wait and will continue to bid on red zone even though we bought other tickets just in case.....no matter where I end up as long as its at a show I am happy! The music and energy are magic and even if for only one night, everything else in my life that is very difficult right now is forgotten for those hours. Its the best medicine I could ask for!
What shows are you going to?
