Nothing will be near streets lol.
  2. Thought live was pretty good too, except for Bono at some moments... I don't know what it is with this song, but it has something magical.
  3. How does this rank amonst other U2 classics?

To me, Magnificent was always up there as one of my favourites from the new album, top 3, but breathe was my number 1, fast forward to now, and Magnificent is way up on top.

When i first gave it 4 or 5 listens, i thought it would that type of song that would hit instantly [which it did], but fade away just as quickly, if anything, it;s just grown stronger.

Big call i know, but i rank it up with Streets & New Years Day, wouldn't feel strange in between both these gems, definatly the "anthem" song from this album, the last had City Of Blinding Lights, ATYCLB had Elevation as that track, Streets on Joshua, Sunday Bloody Sunday on War etc.

Whilst the honeymoon period for the new album is over, and now not playing it 5 times a day..LOL, i still listen at least once a day, by all means hasn't faded away like alot of albums can do, so that is a good indication that it's a stayer, has the markings to be a classic.

But back to Magnificent, it's had the same effect on me as the likes of I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, NYD, Pride, Bad, Streets, With Or Without You, One, Beautiful Day when i first heard those songs, to me, it's right up there.

    I think i first gave Magnificent & Breathe a 9 out of 10, Magnificent is NOW a 10.

  4. Try a little bit harder. Have you listened to the BBC Rooftop live version? That's decent.

There's definitely something that's gripping about this track. It's not all that original from a sound point of view but it's got a real level of excitement to it. It's a definite crowd starter. I'm backing it to be no.2 or 3 in the setlist.
  5. I still think we might see Get On Your Boots 1st but then this song would be like 2nd or 3rd and that wouldnt be as great? If this is first then where would GOYB go??
  6. 1. Breathe
    2. Get On Your Boots

    5/6 Magnificent

    OR
    1. Breathe
    2. Magnificent

    Encore opener:
    Get On Your Boots

  7. I hope they wont open with Breathe... save it for later in the show.

  8. Okay, either as opener or somewhere in the encore, agree on that
Would be great to end with Breathe-COL like the album does

I think "Magnificent" is something that is totally different but has that anthemic U2 formula. It's really different from Streets or COBL. Truly this is something that the band has'nt done.

I get the feeling of an eagle soaring through the air above a desert, to the sun... : ) seriously.
  10. Forgot to add this.

    Opinion:

"Magnificent" has that 'In God's Country" lull to it and the dynamics of "Last Night on Earth" but it is more solid and louder...
