1. Have u read this( i hope its just a rumour):
Bono fears U2 will split up. The singer says he and his bandmates - guitarist The Edge, drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and bassist Adam Clayton - are determined to enjoy their upcoming world tour because they fear it could be their last.

He said: "We want to play for each other as much as we want to play for the crowd this time. You just don't know how long you are going to be doing this. When we walk out on stage, the hairs on people's necks go up - but what people don't know is that the hairs on our necks go up too."

Larry is concerned their fans won't want to part with their money to watch them, even though tickets have been priced reasonably.

He said: "Will we sell it out? Who knows? Will the economic situation have an impact? Probably. But that's not going to stop us."

Larry recently admitted he wants the group to retire while they are still at the top.

He said: "There will be a time when it's like, 'It's time to go.' I would like that to be on a high when you're still achieving as opposed to the curve down. That'll be sad for me. I think it'll be a more dignified time to go."

    if this is a joke,then its a shitty one...what do u think?
  2. didn't they feel this way with the Elevation tour?
  3. lol... I don't know how to say it in English but in Dutch we call this verneukeratief. Uit zn verband getrokken.

These are all bits taken from interviews... the press is just making a cheesy story.
  4. Well...U2 still have a contract for a couple of albums
And it's all about making money and stuff, so my guess is there will be more tours to follow
But maybe on a smaller scale
Back to the War- and TUF-era gigs, that's what I expect

yeah, they have that contract, but then you know how U2 works... they never do things because they "have to", they never have. They do what the four of them feels best with (oh heaven, my English ) so I think we can't say what they will do.

These quotes are really just that -- quotes, taken out of context. It's what the yellow press wants to put into their mouths, they use these words to make up a good headline for their nect issue. I don't believe those news for a minute.

I personally think we cannot expect anything for the future. The band is still here, after 30 years, and nobody thought back then that they would. Maybe they're still going strong in 10 years, but when they feel their time is up, they will put an end to the band. That's what they agree on, I guess.
Maybe that's why I do this crazy "try-to-see-as-many-concerts-of-one-tour-as-possible" thing this time.... because I don't take the band for granted at any time. They might, or might not, stop being a band any day. Only time will tell

  6. Live nation is a 10 year deal....there will be much more.....of course it may be their last tour........today could be our last day on earth as well!
  7. There's the Spider Man project, and maybe Songs of Ascent. I don't think it's going to be the last, but it's true Larry said he doesn't see himself touring when he'll be 70 - thanks God he said it! If they want to leave when they're still at the top, though, then it is either now or the next... but we'll see: this tour will be very long, and I'm not sure they know what they want in the first place right now. As they say, who knows...
