  7. U2 have made a big mistake with the sequence of singles for NLOTH.

    In my opinion, the very first single to spin off should be the title track "No Line On The Horizon". It will give old fan the feeling of Achtung baby. It is the Keane-like radio friendly but yet refreshing track that would appeal to the younger generation and new fans. Also include some b-sides to the single. It could be at least top 5.

    For 2nd single, they should release Crazy with various remixes. Crazy is definitely the most accessible track in the album and would attract pop lovers. Certainly draw interests from the radio listeners and they will think U2 can be so funky. It could be at least top 5.

    3rd single should release when their 360 tour begins. And it should be Get On Your Boots with that funky video.

    4th single would be Moment of Surrender. I am sure if they play this song well during their tour, this would be a very successful single.

    5th Single is Magnificent. It is for the old U2 fans, and don't expect it to be top 10.

    What do you think? Does it sound like a plan?

    I think it might have sounded like one -- but, too late!

  11. Boots as a Vertigo / Discotheque crossover was a bold statement as a first single once again, but sadly it didn't work out this time. The chorus might just not be catchy enough.

    After the Boots fizzled they should have been releasing the second single much faster - and IMHO it should have been Crazy. Magnificient probably third. NLOTH would be a crappy single unless remixed or rerecorded. The guitar just drones, and the drums are buried in the back of the mix - at least during the first verse. It's alright as an album track, but right now it's not a potential single chart buster.

    Too late to change anything now. Without a major miracle this album won't sell 10 million copies.

    No reason to cry. We have the album, we like it, and U2 are still rich and famous. The tour is going to be successful, and we might even get another album next winter.

    Looking at the sales now, it would be a miracle if NLOTH can sell 5 millions.
    I think, it will end up 3-4 millions.
