1. The only real problem with Stand Up Comedy is the cheesy ending and bridge.

  2. yeah haha i like the verses and the overall song. Im not bothered by it as much as the Unknown Caller lyrics.
  3. I read a few comments from people on the forum since the albums release, saying give it a while and youll grow to love the album. They were exactly right. On first listen I was saying its just OK, then I was like its a good one, but now I think its very good. Not on the level of JT or AB, any resemblence to those 2 are off the mark if you ask me. I used to dislike Unknown Caller and Cedars of Lebanon, but theyve grown on me now, the only weak song IMO is White as Snow.

Me too. Except I liked it more straight off by all accounts.

    Welcome

If you go to the bootleg page for each show there will be an artwork section towards the bottom - click on 'see all available artwork'.

Also user 'Stu' is creating CD covers for each show ofthis tour - he has a thread very active at present; just search int he active topics or under the tour sub-section of the forum.

    Hope this helps
  7. the album is still by far the best thing they have trough out since Pop. Stand Up Comedy is still a weak link though

  8. I agree completely. IMO, NLOTH is top10 U2 song ever.
  9. Good album, comes in third after Zooropa and AB for me. Best thing since Zooropa, only a little better than Pop. Albums reminds me a bit of War, not musically, but with the change from Boy & October to War and the change from ATYCLB & HTDAAB to NLOTH.

You can hear that there are still some influences from the last two albums but they are definitely willing to change their sound and that counts for both War and No Line.

This album delivers some epics. Unknown Caller is the song I struggled the most with and now I really love it. Besides that I consider Moment Of Surrender as there best song since Stay... maybe it's even better... live version is a huge improvement and considering that, the album version was already very good.

It really could have been an epic album if songs like Boots, Crazy and Stand Up were left out and replaced with songs like Being Born and Unknown Caller, more experimental stuff. Those three songs are the songs that make you think of HTDAAB and ATYCLB. But maybe these songs are just needed to wake you up or something... it's not that I dont like them but they are a bit throw away, you can love them for a week and then hate them the next week.

So I'm curious to the sequel, I really hope for more experimentation.

Love evrything you said. I still disagree with the majority about Stand Up (and for me White as Snow is that song), but otherwise -

I LOVE Get On Yo0ur Boots now and I'll love it next week and the week after and the week after that. Also Crazy and Stand Up are highlights to the album in my opinion. If you liken this to a rap album, rappers have songs they know are commercial and will be hits (Crazy Tonight is one of these songs) and then the album has more hardcore street (or in U2's case more experimental) stuff. I really think it's a great balance.
