    It storys like that that make me happy that I'm planning on going into law enforcement. If I can save one person it will be worth it. If not, I can make it sound more intresting than it actually is to annoy my relatives, who think its a stupid career choice. Now I just need to decide, to go to college, or find a department that doesen't require a degree.
  5. Aaron, the problem here is that those are the supposed law enforcers, attacking students.
    There are different forces here,
    - The police, which are all in their uniforms and act like normal cops.

    - The anti-riot police, which again are in their uniforms, and are much more violent than normal cops, they're very well trained and have severely injured a lot of people in these few days.

    - The Basijis...these are some kind of militia, devoted to the supreme leader...they believe that hurting these protestors will get them to heaven...they are very radical. These and the next group are the ones attacking student dormitories.

    - The so-called Uniform-less people. These are people as well trained as the anti-riot cops, but they have no uniforms, so people don't see the attacks coming, and they are well hidden, you can't prove that one of the cops attacked you with a knife, when the attacker had no uniform.

    Tomorrow has been declared Mourning Day for the 8 people who were killed on Monday, Mousavi will also attend. On Friday the supreme leader will be speaking at Friday Prayers...which will be very important for what comes afterwards...

    Let's hope...a 21 year old boy in our family (not close family, I hadn't even met him) has been shot in the head...it's just horrifying...

    Damn! At least he died quickly I presume. And they say police brutality is bad in the U.S.

    I'm very sorry to hear that things are very heated yet... I hope that the speech this friday from the Leader will calm things down and help the Iranian peopl, I hope he is enlighted and can give a proper answer to the given situation...

    I don't know where this is headed to...the streets are very much controlled, Saturday was like an unofficial martial law (it is forbidden in Iranian constitution). Many people killed, the scenes and the stories are horrifying...and the opposition still has more plans for the days to come...I hope it doesn't turn into a civil war...I wish the "supreme leader" had been wiser in his Friday talk

    Meanwhile...still the SMS is shut down for almost 2 weeks now...many sites filtered, yesterday even yahoo mail was unavailable.

    Today, I was reading plans of street marchs by people...seeing reactions of people, scared of going to the streets...and the lyrics of Breathe shouted in my head:

  12. Glad to hear from you Ali. You and your fellow countrymen are in my thoughts often. Please stay safe and keep us posted. Sadly the coverage in America has devolved into meaningless political bickering. I saw the Neda video over the weekend, and a statement from her boyfriend, horrifying.
