1. Harry and Katherine...thanks, it mean a lot to everyone in Iran. The protests are still continued, but are mostly raided with anti-riot police within minutes of them starting...I saw them today and yesterday...
The government made it's final decision today that the elections were ok....we'll have to see how this is continued. It will probably die-down...but the scar it left in people's mind will haunt this government forever...I hope it can make them change their behavior...

I keep hearing that Iran is almost to the point of having a revolution, you don't think so?
  3. Ali, I really love reading your posts, especially in the politics forum. I really learn a lot from them, other things than what the media tells us. Thanks a lot. But more importantly, Peace.
  4. Katherine, no, I don't think so...at least it doesn't seem that way, the people's mind is not ready for a revolution...it all depends on the next few days, but whatever the turnout, I don't see a revolution coming out of it. It will either be a change of tone by the leader and easing his grip on the youth's neck or adding to the pressure and stopping the riots by (more) use of fear. It might end up like the chinese's Tienanmen square protests (protests which ended with the government killing a lot of people...but the chinese government got the message and changed their behavior themselves).

Keep in mind, two weeks ago there were protests with a couple of million people in them...now it's less than a hundred...what does that tell you?

And Mo, thanks, I'm glad my posts here have been useful, hope I can make things about my country, culture and religion clearer

  5. I miss our arguements about gun control. I have the statistics, to kick your ass know too. Not just my redneck pride. I'm also of the belief that the death penality is important.

    Hooray for state-sponsored murder!!!

  7. You ask "why not" and I ask "why?"

There are cases out there where people are wrongly condemned for crimes it turns out years later they didn't commit. Also, what's the harm in keeping them alive in prison and allowing them to work on and hopefully overcome their sickness?

  9. can't really place a price on someones life, nor put it in the hands of a ordinary citizen with a gun in their hand, those times should have passed long ago
