    Really? Well...show them I'd say...

  2. So you're willing to end another human's life to save some cash? Pretty sad, IMO

  3. What's honesty got to do with it - who's to say everyone who pays taxes are honest good people or not? Does anyone obey every single law? Y'know, someone who breaks the speed limit is a lawbreaker, so how can they claim to be completely honest citizens. I'm now saying that someone who goes 3 miles over the speed limit is committing a crime of the same level of severity as someone who commits murder. However, bringing honesty into it seems to be irrelevant - essentially, it's the old case of he without sin casting the first stone.

Besides, I don't pay taxes as of this moment, so I'd be a hypocrite to say prisoners waste public money seeing as I don't contribute. If people don't want to pay taxes to keep prisoners in prison etc. as the constitution/laws of their country decrees, then don't live there. The chances of the death penalty being brought back are nil so long as the majority vote against it, and as far as I know most places in the Western World (I can't comment for certain on other places) are against it because they recognise that no one should have the right to take the lives of others. I reiterate - in my view, nothing gives us the right to take anyone's life in civilized society (hence why it's considered civilised because we have rights and responsibilities towards each other), hence it's a crime, and that's why many societies around the world have made it an offence to take the life of another, or even attempt to. Yes, there are people who have taken the lives of others, but by taking their life in return isn't anybody's choice - however, by the fact that they interact in our society, they forfeit their rights and are punished. Like Gandhi said, eye for an eye and we'd all be blind - killing is an act which would simply render us no better than primitive animals, and granted, whilst we are still essentially animals, we've developed systems of living and we have the power of choice to be above such base actions. Choose to go against the will of others and suffer the consequences.

    Fully agreed.
