1. Ah I forgot about tonight lol - glad to see they're keeping UV and TUF still, I'm petrified they'll bear to consider dropping them before August! Stand By Me, genius.
  2. All the way back to ZooTV ya know

Absolutely surprised by the setlist, and I'm not kidding. I waited for them to shake it up, so since they've played the exact same set as Barcelona I, it's a complete surprise for me

    Dissapointed.

PS. I hope that at least the performance was good and Bono had voice enough...

Considering the inclusion of Party Girl, In A Little While, The Unforgettable Fire and Ultraviolet, theres still plenty of surprises for those who havn't been looking at previous setlists for rehearsals and the Barcelona shows.

A fact often overlooked by us nuts
  5. Yes, it's a surprise for the non-spoiled people (most of the audience of the concerts, methinks), but they PROMISED to change it more often, and for the moment only 3 songs have changed/rotated, out of a total of 68 Man, this is the internet era. When they play a song in Germany, it's automatically known in the USA and in Australia, and viceversa. They can't pretend to play the same setlist just rotating 2 or 3 songs, they CAN'T. They shoud have two or three different setlist-structures, and by that I mean completely different basic setlsits (different openings, middle part and encores). It's U2 up there, they are the biggest of the biggest. They can't pretend, they have to satisfy.

Well they satisfy me at this moment.

Indeed indeed. That also applies even further for the regular songs when you consider those (such as myself) who have yet to be to any show at all - yeah, I'd be chuffed to be at a show where they bring something in from left-field but I still wanna be able to say I've seen the at least a couple U2 classics.

  9. Here's my prediction for a single show city:

    3. No third song - just a time to recover from the opening two
    4. Magnificent
5.Until The End of The World
    6. Mysterious Ways

    13.Please... seguing into...
    14. ...Love is Blindness
    16.A Sort of Homecoming

20.One (no speech before, just pure version from Achtung Baby)

    Encores:
Unfortunately we cannot please everyone tonight so:
    1. I Will Follow (unstoppable version, they play like they were 18 years old again)
    2. since they are 18 again they dare to play 11 O'Clock Tick Tock (unbelieveable version)
    3. With Or Without You (1987 version)
4.Cedars Of Lebanon (the lights are off, just one spotlight directly on the band, extremely intimate version with 80 thousand people singing)

    2nd encore:
    1.Zooropa
2.Zooropa once again for those who could not believe it
3.Larry takes off his shirt and throws it to the audience
4.After that the audience reaction is deafening and U2 are fined for noise
5.Bono connects to U2start forum giving us latest on setlist
    6.Breathe
band leaving the stage and the full version of Songs Of The Ascent is being played over PA

  10. Bono's speech before One, tonight:

'It is well known that I have had some differences with your prime minister over promises that were made and not kept to the world's poor. Italians have given so many gifts to the world... modern physics.. the renaissance.. the piano... the gift of song... from Puccini to Luciano Pavarotti to Jovanotti. In the next few days, at the G8, your leader will decide where he stands on the gift of life for people far beyond your shores. If you think he should do what he promised for the poorest and most vunerable in Africa, you need to let him know because he is not Increasing aid as he said he would. He is slashing it. Do you think he should do what he promised? He still can. Tomorrow. Thursday. Friday. We'll be waiting to see if he does. I write songs... Berlusconi gets to write history... it's not too late for his chapter to end with dignity... I want to dedicate this song for him... it's called One.'
