1. After watching MOS, UV Magnificent, WOWY and Party Girl, I can say:

    - Yesterday setlist disappointed me a lot, I already told it yesterday night.

    - Performance was one of the bests since 1993.

    - Bringing Bono's daughter to the stage is just weird. She's grown (:X omg, she's hot now ) but she simply doesn't belong to a stage surrounded by 100'000 people, she doens't. There has to be our 4 musicians, nothing or no-one else.

    - Bono's voice was fantasticly strong, but he didn't seem to give his 100% all the time. I mean, for example in MOS he reached all the tones without problems, but most of the time he left the audience or Edge sing them. Why? Maybe he's worried of his voice to be able to stand a lot of concerts and he tries to save it...

    - The Edge is strangely wrong too many times lately. It doesn't worry me, he just can have tons of things on his prodigious mind that distract him (maybe his daughter's illness has gone worse? dunno), but... The Edge is the main part of U2 for me, honestly, and with Bono at 80% and the other two being as shy and non-present as always, The Edge HAS to be there... He seems to be a bit off. He fucks off solos (UC on Barca 1, MOS on Milan 1, etc) and he doens't sound aas good as he always has...

I really hope they keep on with the great performance, BUT change the main structure of the setlist as soon as possible (I don'o't even want new songs, just a different structure and order, god, they can't play the same set night after night continuously.. they promised not to do that).
  2. Mistake during MOS solo wasn't as worse as the fuck up during UC (barca I)

I'm with you. Hopefully the setlist tonight will be different. Looks like they seem to love this setlist, though. Edge made lots of mistakes in the first Zoo TV shows too; I'm pretty sure things will get (much) better in time. There is probably more pressure now, and more awareness of whatever may go wrong, with you tube, the stadium choice, Europe etc. (both awesome choices btw!). Although yes, who knows what Edge has in mind. New shows must carry a lot of stress with them. I think it's good that Bono doesn't always stretch his voice - the tour is indeed long... I'm pretty sure they'll play Drowning Man in Ireland, and perhaps in UK too. Bono once said that U2 music is, deep inside, traditional Irish music... there we go (well, this is of course a big piece of wishful thinking). Hope second nights won't always be more interesting than first nights, since I'm only going to Amsterdam I this round (and Sheffield, but this is a one night stand only...).
  4. you are hating the setlist way to much Sergio. And after only 3 shows?
  5. I don't hate it!! It is a GREAT setlist!! I love the running order of the songs (just dislike a bit the lack of a longer/another encore, but that's a minor fault).
The fact is that I am annoyed with them, because they told us that they will be changing the setlists VERY often, and for now the main structure has been the same for the 3 concerts, only 4 songs have rotated or changed. That is annoying for me. Different setlist structures (as Lovetown) is what they promised, and it's what I wanna get. Nothing else. I hope they change it a bit for tonight's show, or maybe for Nize...

You know Bono, I guess? I never expected a mixed-up setlist...

They still havent figured out their baseline setlist structure yet. Opener and closer are a little weak. Middle section a little dreary. They are gonna have to nail this setlist first (especially the new songs) and then, and only then can they consider seriously shaking it up. New songs mean new lighting effects etc and these don't just appear. It will change, but not immediately

For now though, drop WOWY and MOS as a closer and make a new encore

  9. A song like that running over seven minutes is always gonna take time and with such elaborate arrangements and vocals it only makes it worse. I'm not gonna download the next shows unless there's a significant change in set-lists, but it's good to see Ultra Violet might be more of a regular on the European shows.

With or Without You...that song could be done far more justice if the band commits to putting half-decent efforts into it. Looking forward to what Milan 2 brings...
  10. Partially agree, Gerard, but for me MOS is the perfect closer from the new album (assuming they don't want to close with ''40'' or weirder ones). But they should polish the opening set indeed. Maybe openng with NLOTH, Magnificent and GOYB, and leave Breathe for the encore or something like that.

As usual, the americans will get the cool setlists, and we will get the crap-same-structured ones... I hope I'm wrong

I hope ur right lol! Can't wait to see them in September but who would have thought that UV would be this great ? For me it's the best performance of the night so far judging the first 3 shows.

Though it doesn't beat the ZooTV-ones
