1. I'm willing to do it again if it gets me along the rail again.
  2. Originally posted by gwiz:So, I got there around 4:30, enough time to hear the soundcheck. I was right behind the outer circle, behind one row. Snow Patrol went on at around 7:10, and were pretty average. He had a good stage presence, but only 3 songs were any good.

U2 went on at around 9.
Magnificent is a lot better show opener than breathe
    NLOTH was kickass
GOYB was as well, crowd seemed to enjoy it
    MW surprised the crowd
    Everyone sang along to ISHWILF
Elevation was really fun to jump up and down to
YBR didn't get as much applause as it should have, but it was amazing
    BD was well-liked
    UC went over well
UTTeOTW was epic-great light show. Bono brought some lady onstage and she carried him around for a while. Then they stood on each of the catwalks and tried to reach each other.
    Stay was great
TUF went over really well, a guy to the left of me loved it
I didn't notice the mofo snippet, bono spent a lot of time around us during cobl.
Vertigo was the best version of it I've heard, long intro
    Crazy remix was really danceable
I usually hate sbs post 98, but they pulled it off nicely
Walk on was a nice time to rest
One was great, lead nicely into streets
    UV had the best atmosphere
    WOWy was similar
    MOS was a perfect closer.

First U2 show I've been to, can't imagine seeing one without being in GA. Quite the experience.

One of the panels is broken, I doubt they will fix it anytime soon. Another one is on its way out also. Both are on the front of the stage.
The sound was great. Bono put on macphisto horns during Vertigo.

Excellent summary, this was my first show too. I missed Snow Patrol, me and the people I went with somehow managed to get lost in Boston, so we only got there at about 7:15 or so. Except for the occasional second-hand cigarette and marijuana smoke, GA was great, a lot of intensity and excitement. I was probably about 30 or so people back from the stage, had an excellent view of both the stage and the lights.

I was really really surprised when I saw the whole band walk out at once and then Magnificent kicked off. It was a solid opener, but it's a shame that they didn't play Breathe at all, it's one of my favorite tunes from the album. Mysterious Ways was definitely a surprise to hear, but a very pleasant surprise, I love that song. Although I'm not a huge fan of the song, UC was cool with the sing-along lyrics on the screen. I've always loved acoustic Stay, and it was excellent last night also. As for the Crazy Tonight remix, it is definitely better experienced live than on YouTube. With everybody "going crazy" all around you and Bono instructing the crowd how to move, it was a great part of the set. Sunday Bloody Sunday was great, and so was Streets, I've waited my entire life to jump around during that song and it was GREAT. WOWY was great, really sweet to hear one of my favorite live songs... actually live. And then Moment of Surrender was great, great closer and great song, excellently performed last night.

It was a really exciting first U2 show for me. Great spot, great performance, great night.
  3. Nicole- great review. I've been waiting to read it!

Now I need to start choppin on my review of Chicago

  4. Thanks! Get crackin' on yours!
  5. Nice reviews, good to know there were some Starters there
  6. Just a couple pics of my vantage points.

    Night 1:

    Night 2:

Roughly the same spot, just on opposite sides of the rail.
  7. Was hoping for a Stories For Boys snippet like they did on the Vertigo Chicago DVD. Should have known better...

  8. A nice shot of the security guard.

    sorry about the size
  9. For those who were there: Did they band spend much time on the bridges and catwalk? I just saw the video of Magnificent as opener and feel a little sad that they are not going onto the bridges and catwalk for that song anymore, it has been one of the highlights of the tour for me. I think it was a great performance, but I still feel Breathe is the better opener. I hope they will bring Breathe back, or maybe rotate both songs.
