1. Let's just see what happens at the next show..

They did after all drop Breathe for one show a few back. Then played it on SNL. There'll be a reason that we're not privy to..
  2. I was at the show last night and it was the last of 5 in a row that I went to (2 Boston, 2 NY). I have to say, although it was a great show (I'm not sure there is such a thing as a bad U2 show) it was the worst of the 5 I went to. I heard a lot of talk about the DC crowd being the quietest, which I thought was a crazy thing to say, but it was a farily tame crowd, especially for the its size. Bono repeatedly had to make an extra effort to get the crowd into it. I was about 10 feet back from the outer ellipse and I just felt like the crowd was not feeling it at all (apart from Elevation, Beautiful Day and Streets).

I'm not disappointed. It's U2 and it was a great show. Just not their best.

Also, it was political overkill at this show due to it being DC (obviously).

    I give it a 3.5/5. Boston 2 was a 5/5

I have to agree, I also felt that Bono was making an extra effort to get the crowd going but like above it wasn't a bad show-if there is such a thing as a bad U2 show. I was stood in the inner circle on Adam's side and had a good time.

I got to see them both nights in New Jersey and were way better.

    I'll also give the show a 3.5/5.

Good to hear. I assume Bad was definitely a typo then?

What about the lack of NLOTH/UC? I'm not going to say it was a short setlist as many Europe shows were 22 songs, but those songs were not dropped (much..).

I was definitely disappointed by the lack of NLOTH. It has been my favorite live track from the new record. In Boston they skipped Breathe too, so it's been cool and frustrating at the same time to see them mix up the set, but yeah, the absence of breath was less disappointing than No Line.

UC I haven't been particularly fond of live, but I still would have liked to hear it. I would really just be interested in seeing some more major set list mix ups. YBR has been amaaaaaazing. We need more rarities like that, especially the Zooropa/POP stuff.

    Oh well. Great show. Solid.

PS... has anyone else noticed the consistent shortages in the video screen. Bulbs fusing and blanking out? At the first Boston show it actually sparked and went out. But every show has had that happen since. Last night there was a guy up in the screen fixing it before U2 came on. Also, the video cut out during Magnificent for about 90 seconds. It looked very strange to see a black screen while the band was playing.

Fair play. Ddidn't see any particular video problems in Europe - the screen didn't extend for a couple of shows. There was the occasional pixel missing. That's what you get for using new technology I guess...
  7. Perhaps the setlist was a bit abbreviated due to time constraints?
Didn't the band take the stage at 21:00 & if so there may have been the limitation of a 23:00 curfew shortening the show from 2:10 to 2:00.
Too much DC meet & greet before the show...
  8. I also attended last night, after going to the 1st Foxboro show last Sunday, and was disappointed by the lack of UC and NLOTH. Glad I heard them last week. They've also played Stuck at 6 of the last 7 concerts I've been to.

Still a great show, and all my friends who hadn't seen U2 live before were in awe, but this was the 14th time I've seen them, and was probably my least favorite.
  9. Anyone tried the bootleg? The gear that was used looks good - taper mentions some wind rumbles, though.

If you mean the one from dime (now on u2 torrents) I'm three songs in and it sounds really good so far. Little crowd noise, very clear sound. haven't heard any wind rumbles though.
  11. Now available on our bootleg pages, doubted between 4 and 4,5-stars. If the majority says 4,5 I'll change
  12. Was at the show 2 days ago. Great proformance, but the crowd was definatly weak. I was in the circle right next to Clayton and alot of the people around me were really out of it. So glad to hear YBR. I wish Adam did the narration though. It was funny when half the people around me had no idea what song they were playing...

PS: sdking, i agree i want to hear some POP and Zooropa sooooo bad. They should play HMTMKMKM too.
