Sigh..........As I said,I have seen U2 many, many times over in NYC/NJ,Boston,Albany and Philly. The NYC/NY and Philly gigs were great. The post 9/11 shows were fantastic, but so were the many, many shows they played before, and after 9/11.If you want to see an American audience go wild here,go see the master,Bruce Springsteen. No European act can match the E street band live.

How do they know in advance what is going to be a great show??!! There's absolutely no way of predicting what chemistry will emerge between band and crowd.
I suspect the decision is based on numerous things far too mundane to discuss here. And wrong topic.
Suffice to say that I think what a number of us is saying is that if you look at the DVD's as a representation of a crowd then all the non-American DVD's have great crowds and the 2 American DVD's have lame crowds. That is a fact. It does not mean that all American crowds are poor.

I said I would love to see U2 in Europe.I have seen Oasis(07.21.00 Wembley) and Radiohead (Nov.26,27.03 Earls Court) in London. Both of course were fantastic. And I caught Pearl Jam in Barcelona 05.25.00.That was amazing and without a doubt the most intense audience that I have seen live.I also caught Radiohead in Warrinton England,at Victoria Park 10.02.00.That was the day Kid A was released in the UK.So,I think I can talk about the European crowds and the American crowds.I have been there.I dont know if the Earls Court audience were better than the NYC audience that I saw from Radiohead. Both were very loud and into it.I guess I might give the nod to the Earls Court shows.I know this is about U2,and not Bruce or Radiohead, but we are talking about the audience.I have been lucky enough to see shows in Europe and America.I depends on who you see.

this topic is to do with the U2 audience. If you havent saw U2 in Europe and i havent saw them in America then we are both equal in our opinions. All those other gigs are irrelevant in this topic

They sing along to many songs (the "sundaaay bloooody sundaaaay" they do alone gives me shivers everytimes... the "el-e-va-tion" chants are great too)... It's just that they don't go crazy as we the latins or (partially) the Irish or aussies... On the other hand, the average of passion put on by the audiences in USA and the audiences in Europe/South America/Oceania is very different. That has no discussion.
