    Lossy?, there is a lossless record of Sheffield, the quality is VG+/Ex Aud (for me)

  3. There is lot of noise in the broadcast. I also don't like it anymore. There are much better audience-recordings from the Tour available (Chicago 1 for example) but that's just my opinion.

  5. I guess the question is if they are planning to release them, why wait until the end of the tour? Why does that make a difference?

    No one is going to trade for any of these shows now as they have been listed already. They know they will get it for nothing anyway at the end of the tour.

    my thoughts exactly. Waiting until the tours end carries no sense
  7. To release shows like these in their prime sometimes causes a flow of different matrixes and remasters, some good, some poor, all in all confusing to everyone.
    A year after, once the agitation, the excitement and the greed are gone, slimmer chance not everyone will feel the need to share his own mix.
    I don't say it is, nor do I say it is good or bad, but this might be a consideration to tapers.
    Some just might want to tease or to provoke. Oh well.

    fairly valid point that and one I would endorse if that was the tapers reasons for not releasing recordings during the tour itself.

    None of that will change in a year or even two years.

    If the recording is posted people will do what they please no matter what and it will have the exact same effect.

    Its no big deal, but the argument is fairly weak IMO. Their recording, their perogative, I just think the theory behind them waiting is suspect. I think it would be better to just not say anything about it, or that it even exists if that is the plan. Then release it when you please. That would make a hell of a lot more sense.

    I do think you're right in a way.
    Let's have clear I don't speak for tapers. I don't record IEMs, nor do I know people personally that hoard such sources. I just do know by visiting some boards that quite some IEM/ALD tapers usually aren't too amused to see various "remasters" pop up once they share their source. As I am someone who likes to "remaster" shows myself, I obviously don't condemn people who work on a raw source and share their work. But I do realize it is confusing to collectors when two raw sources, six matrixes and 18 remastered matrixes pop up in a week.
    Again, I absolutely don't claim this is the main reason for people to hoard their tapes. But it definitely is a fact that an IEM, ALD or SBD source shared shortly after the actual gig, generates way more remasters and matrixes than an IEM/ALD/SBD shared a year after the actual gig.

    That was all I wanted to say: as I said, I'd prefer not to get into the discussion whether it is good or bad or whatever moves people. I don't know. Of course personally I like the good stuff to pop up as early as possible but I can't have any infiuence, no-one can, so well, we'll just have to wait and it doesn't matter how reasonable we are as everything only depends on how reasonable the taper is.

  11. If you want i'll ask the Taper for his reasons. But i know there was lot of trouble in the past at u2torrents. Some bleating about the iem's. I think this is the really reason why the Taper don't upload the rest earlier, i think.

    U2torrents = always trouble. Even the Atlanta 2001 SBD ended up in a bitchfight for nothing. An 8 years old show! omgwtfbbq roflol

    Hot & desired U2 boots often generate trouble, maybe indeed it has little to do with people who rework raw sources, but somehow the atmosphere is easily ruined when a heavily desired source pops up. I think you're right, tapers might want to stay out of the bitchfights and wait until people aren't that greedy anymore.

    Ask him only if you want to know yourself, I have to confess I'm not that much interested in IEMs anyway.
