    Well, i'm talking about a bootleg vs the album version. I'm sure if in an alternate reality, the band lip-synched to the album version and you were there live (and didn't realise they were lip syncing) to experience it it would sound better than any live version.
    I haven't watched or heard a live performance of Streets than measures up to the minute detailing and cohesion of the album version. (yes, that includes live from Boston).

    No it's definitely a bassline, as Edge is playing piano and it still continues in the background. I'll have a look at that Saturday Night Live version though, but if thats not the bassline? then what's Adam playing cos I can't hear anything else besides drums, piano, organ and guitar, can't hear any other bassline.

    Streets live from Boston is certainly fantastic, and to be honest I think the Elevation tour as a whole really brought Streets out as a live entity like no other tour has, in part due to the circumstances the tour found itself in, e.g. Bob Hewson's death, 9/11 and the like. I like the album version, but I've always been biased towards live versions because I feel the live arena and crowd participation really brings songs out from their shells

    Truth be told, I can't hear any bass part lol, hence my wonderment - I'm listening to the Sheffield broadcast now but can't pick up anything. The bass-part and Edge's part could be the same notes, and the guitar layer over the top simply fills it out and gives Edge something to do during the verses, similarly to parts of Beautiful Day.

    What? It's similar to the bass line on album version, but a lot more prominent sounds 'clicky'.

  4. For the first few bars of Beautiful Day, the bassline and Edge's guitar line are the same, and I think that's what's going on during MoS - I'm pretty sure the 'clickiness' is Edge's guitar, and I can't hear it during the chorus.
  5. Yea, ur right. It stops when Edge plays piano ( what the hell is Adam doing then?)

    That guitar part is a great addition though, really fills out the sound compared to the album version.
    He's playing a bass groove on guitar using an effect similar to the one in your blue room it seems.

  9. I wonder how easy it is to remix it though. That's the important thing here and that there's at least 17 remixes to choose from.

    It's a nice choice but instead they should grow a pair and release the full song. No radio edit on singles - after all, I'm buying a single, so I should get a single edit. If I'm listening to the radio I get a radio edit. Same as if I'm in a shopping centre, I want the shopping centre edit. If I'm at KFC I want the KFC edit. See?

    Rarely do songs over five minutes get radio play so make it Breathe or No Line. It'd better have a kick-ass video though; not since Boots has there been one.
  10. Here's how I see it: the radio edit (if the song ever happens to be a single) will start from the point where Larry and Adam kick in on the album, and the oh oh oh outro will be left out, too. Hopefully they won't forget about the solo. No solo was the weakest point of Magnificent as a single.
