1. Originally posted by aparofanI think they should retire Pride, One, New Year's Day, and Sunday Bloody Sunday. I almost included Streets in there but I think they can still get some juice of that one if they didn't play it as often. All of these songs sound tired to me. They don't have near the energy they used to. I think they'll continue to play all of them though which is OK. I don't dislike any of them.

No way! Especially Streets - if I went to a show and didn't hear these it'd feel odd. The show would be sort of out of whack - not really U2.

In truth, I don't think any song should be dropped (even if it is One) because it's U2 and those five songs you listed made them - they could play just those every night and it would still rock. Imagine if John Lennon was still alive and he completely abandoned Imagine, the Beatles dropping Ringo Starr and Michael Jackson refusing to ever play Thriller again in a show - that's what it would be like.

Of course I missed to say what Drew said. this is a MUST. It wouldn't be a U2 concert w/o Streets.

You could ONLY drop Streets if replaced by something amazing like Bad. You wouldn't believe it but One, Streets, New Year's Day and Sunday Bloody Sunday were actually not going to be played on the Vertigo Tour, but luckily not.

I got thrills only thinking about the fact than both of them could be dropped....... don't say it neither for joke

    Hopefully not.
  6. the band questioned dropping Streets for Popmart but common sense (and a funky slice of techno) prevaled
  7. Bullet: Keep
SBS: Drop, or just play it once every 3 or 4 shows. I prefer the slower Elevation version
New Years Day: Keep - they usually play this song closer to the start of the tour and drop it later
UTEOTW:Keep - this is too kickass to drop
    Streets: Keep
    One: Don't play as frequently
    WOWY: Keep
    Pride - Keep
  8. I think bullet definitely needs to go, and new years day is waaaay to overrated to stay in the setlist, so that too.
I can go either way on sunday bloody sunday.
One is probably my favorite U2 song, so I can't say no to that. it's just too freaking perfect. Edge's guitar work on that song is brilliant.
I echo what most people have said about streets. It's too fantastic and a show wouldn't be the same without it.
With or Without You is incredible, but maybe it's time to give it a rest so that when it does come back it will be even more amazing.
Until The End of The World is unbelievable live. Maybe one of the best live tracks because Bono and Edge work so well together.

Finally.... bring back the popmart tracks. If it's possible to get rid of some of these, subsitute them with newer and better versions of MOFO!!!, Gone, Last night on Earth, Discoteque, and Please. I would pay double the normal ticket price to hear U2 play a few of these. The ZooTV portion of the vertigo tour was fantastic. Imagine what this would be like..... gives me chills.
  9. I think definitely Pride and Bullet the Blue Sky, and Elevation if they still play that, maybe New Years Day and UTTEOTW, but if I go to a u2 concert i'd want my money back if they didn't play One or With or Without you.
  10. SBS, Bullet, New Year's, One, Pride, Mysterious
  11. BTBS: KEEP! Political beauty, nice song too
    One: Let go...
    Streets: A U2-show is no U2-show without...
UTEOTW: KEEP! Just for the ending!
MW: Keep, was awesome every tour
SBS: Let go, getting a bit tired of the same riff all the time...
Pride: even tough the Vertigo-ones were nice: LET GO! It lost it's beauty...
