1. I dreamed a dream...yeah baby. She posed for me in my living room - what a fun afternoon we had together, sipping tea and talking about cats.

    HELL YEAH BABY!!!

Seriously, she's done better than me but maybe some of you are strangely attracted to her.

  2. Ever get the feeling there's something really wrong and broken with your brain, dude? SRSLY.

And just to get this back on topic so no one smacks me my first day back, The Killers, even though the latest album kinda sucked.

But they do have a fairly unique sound of their own, albeit heavily borrowed from others, they're sort of a meld between U2 and a much mild, happy Radiohead

It's true that they're not as creative as the Killers though (which are also one of my favourite bands).
But their music is just bigger. The Killer's have nothing that has the loft of Clocks or the Scientist.

And Viva La Vida was better album than Day & Age, Coldplay seem to be getting better over time while the Killers have yet to beat their debut with Hot Fuss.
    Absolutely agree.

Right now I'm in a Killers phase so I can't say I prefer COldpllay. Anyway, Im realistic and know that CP's music is much wider and spreadable than Killer's one...

    Long live Hot Fuss.

A stunner of a DVD indeed. If this will not get you into Muse, nothing will

I disagree whole-heartedly. Sure Hot Fuss was a great album, but Sam's Town and Day and Age have shown that The Killers arne't afraid to change it up, and i think they've evolved and gotten better every time. Day and Age has some beautiful melodies on it, and it has amazing written songs. Hot Fuss was a lot about hte basic rock/pop topics, where as Day and Age is a whole new spectacle. I think Day and Age is their best yet. Brandon's voice has gotten a lot better, his singing is immaculate on Day and Age, and it all just comes together so perfectly.

And btw, Viva La Vida sucks, (i know you didn't say that likeasong, Vanquish did, but yeah, Day and Age pwns Viva la Vida X 10. Coldplay sucks.
  6. I think there isn´t a band of the decade imo...

the band that pushed themselves the most and experimented the most- Radiohead

the most popular melodies, pop rock, alternative songs - Coldplay

the band that proved to be good and versatile - Muse

the bands that resurrected the rock n roll spirit - Strokes and Arctic Monkeys

    Live highlight - U2

Honorable mentions - Oasis (great past decade, had a run this one..) and the Killers (are in 2nd in many categories)

I did say that Killers are hugely creative and big risk takers for such a new band (eg. compare them to other new bands like Snow Patrol etc).

VLV is definitely better than Day & Age, VLV is testament to Brian Eno's genius as a producer, it was Coldplay's TUF. Hell, even my brother who is a Killers nut admits that VLV is better than Day & Age... which is usually followed by him swearing at how much he hates Stuart Prince.

lol at the last part. Well, i dunno. Why should an album be a testament to its producer? Shouldn't it be to the band that wrote it? That's what I think is so great about Day and Age, you can really tell it's the band trying to do something new on every single song, where as Viva La Vida isn't THAT different from X&Y. I still find it funny that Coldplay sounds like U2, and for VLV they even used the producer thats worked on most of U2's albums. Hilarious.
  9. Funny, to me both Viva La Vida and Day & Age are huge dissapointments and dont even come close to Parachutes (CP) or Sam's Town (Killers)...

No-one mentioned Foo Fighters yet btw...
  10. RHCP and the Stereophonics both deserve honourable mentions, I reckon.
  11. Coldplay maybe only in 2008 better than U2, That's only a year. Before 2006 they were miles behind. 2009 is a U2 year again. Look at the 360 tour. Best live tour this decade. And don't forget the Vertigo and Elevation tour. Three succesful tours in a row.
Don't put a softrock band as Coldplay in the discussion compared to U2. Coldplay isn't a stadium act yet. I've seen thier stage in Goffertpark Nijmegen. That was no stadiumactstage.Just see the Claw.
Coldplay did go to Brian Eno for their 4th album, That''s exactly the same U2 did 20 years ago. But on the last Colplay album I miss songs as Pride. Coldplay don't Rock . U2 still does.
    Colplay U2

Pretty much. Although the only thing about this being a U2 year, i don't see them sweeping the grammy's like they usually do for this year. The album just wasn't big enough.
