    The side of U2 I think most of us always respected, pushing themselves to go further, out of their comfort zone etc. - I'm excited for sure, even if I'm not able to go.
  2. Neil McCormick has a few interesting things to say about this, rose-coloured as they may be.

    From where I sit, I think this could end up being either brilliant or appalling. U2 have moved so far from the kind of organic, messy performances typical of festivals that my worry is that they'll seem over-polished and over-produced, that they'll rely too much on the technology and not allow the music to speak for itself. I hope they can pull it off.

  4. Limp Bizkit were the headliners at Woodstock '99. Do those whinging fuckers want that? Didn't think so. They could, however, have this guy and put on a real show - personally, I'd prefer him. But I'm not the one who is going, so...

  5. I still love the fact that it's gonna be their first real festival gig since the early days. It's a good thing to criticize but hey, this is a great opportunity. I believe they still have it.
  6. People who have tickets for this but are bashing U2 on NME and other sites can contact me. I'll gladly take the tickets over. But consider yourself damned, you'll proably miss one of the best live acts ever.

    I'm with you Rob. I believe they will rock in Glasto...I don't have any idea about the songs they're going to play, but I'm sure they're going to play with a lot of energy and with a great atmosphere.

  10. Just thought, I really hope they don't do Beautiful Day and One or something, should be real rockers like UTEOTW and The Electic Co. and how good would Discotheque be!! Something cool and unexpected to shake it up, I'd love that.

    Does anyone know how long headlining bands get on stage...?

    I grew up hating U2 because NME told me to, but I saw their last tour at Wembley and it was brilliant. Good booking.

    Headliners play full concerts, so I'd expect a 20-23 songs set from U2.
    It can be brilliant, even thought I would not expect significative changes from the 3360 setlist, sorry to disagree
