They are great on their original CD either in the car or around the house. That's why songs like the one's you've listed (as well as So Cruel and Drowning Man) are probably best left as "snippets" or not played at all.

correct, therefore: leave Drowning Man in its vault U2!

Just go one night. Simple. No-one forced you to go to 2 successive nights. And comparing U2 and Pearl Jam is a silly exercise in my opinion. They are so different; it's like comparing Christina Aguilera and Green Day.

Thats what U2 charge for their top ticket.I didnt pay that.I paid the second price,$95.You can see from their web-page.If you click tickets next to any American show, you will see the prices they charge. As far as your comparing Christina A to GD .I dont know what to say, they both suck.PJ are veteran rockers and have played with U2.Not only the last gig from Vertigo 06,but Bono and Edge have joined PJ at their shows a few times. Most recently 09.19.05 in Toronto. And you are right..we cant compare U2 to PJ.PJ dont charge $250 a ticket for their top seat.U2 charge that.Plus,PJ release EVERY show they perform on their web page.I know this isnt about PJ.I was only saying if they,PJ,can mix up their set,U2 can.Again, check U2's website for their INSANE ticket prices for GA and the first few rows in the 100 and 200 sections. That is a rip-off.You are right.

I see what you are saying, they are very well different. u2 is more popular and likes big gigs while pj is a band that loves throwing gigs for the real fans. u2 can´t do that due to their position.

but, u2 could rotate more. I mean, out of 46 songs every night they play only 3 different then the night before. I don´t care about the order, it can stay alike. But for example, they could play 5-6 different form day to day. Rotate the encore opener (Ultraviolet and Zooropa for example). drop WOWY and put crazy tonight regular there. in the slot of crazy remix put a 90´s song (gone, LNOE or Mofo). The acoustic set can also have a lot more variation because it is just B and the Edge, they can have a total of 5-10 in their sleeves! See, there is already about 10-15 songs they haven´t played yet. I wish they´d keep the hits regular so the casual fans in the stadium are happy and the real fans get thrilled with surprises and pearls.

    Imagine:

    Get on your boots

(these three can rotate like in ZOOTV)
    Breathe
    NLOTH
    Maginficent

    B-Day
    Elevation OR I Will Follow
Until the end of the world OR Mysterious Ways
    I Still Haven´t Found

(acoustic set - 2 slotsfor a sea of possibilities heheheh)
Stay, Stuck in a moment, Desire, Angel of Harlem, Party Girl, Please, In God´s country, WGRYWH, Sometimes...

    Unknown Caller OR ES rarely
The Unforgettable Fire OR A sort of homecoming
    COBL
    Vertigo
Gone OR Last Night on Earth OR Mofo
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Pride
Where the Streets Have no name
    One
    Walk On
Bad - very few times, special shows... otherwise leave this slot empty

    (encore)
    Ultraviolet OR Zooropa OR Discotheque
    Crazy Tonight regular
    All I Want Is You
Moment of surrender - 40 snippet

That´s about 40 different songs in the sleeves that I think pleaseures everyone ;p

PS: I love going to two gis of the same band just to see different song, i donpt expect the band to cange the whole set like PJ, but at least 5-6

Well said. You are 100% right.I was trying to say U2 CAN mix it up.Not to the extent that PJ do,but a sub here and there.Open with Magnificent 1 night and close with Bad.Next night open with Breathe or NLOTH and close with MOS.The mix of the set is good for the band as well.Keeps it fresh. How do you open AND close with the same songs EVERY night ?

    Good to kow u agreed

I also think U2 can mix it up, I mean have a list to chose from 45 songs that all get descent play and not 38, counting covers, like they did this tour so far with 5 of them geting almost no play (Bad, Party Girl, ES).

Also, U2 were visionary for so many thiings like the U2ube broadcast, but for others they aren´t. I think they could do many things to interact with their fans. They shouldn´t focus so much on the fans they want, but focus more on the millions of fans they already have. I mean, what´s so bad about putting 5 star quality sound of a couple of shows, making stuff like zootopia and their site more simple, organized and accessible so everyone can access it, having posts from the band themselves, having official fotos of every concert and one video every now and then of a song with good quality (for example - ES debuted tonite, take a look). Sometimes I think they forget they re a band and act too much like a corporation...

Now, I´m off to the AC/DC concert i Brazil, hell yeah!

Very true.I also cant understand why they dont release anything live for the fans??..PJ release EVERY live show.I know that is a bit much, but could you imagine if U2 released a bunch of live shows on their website??Also, why do they have to charge $250 for the best tix??..Thats ripping us off.I havent paid that..I have to settle for the second grade $95 seats.

i hope that in Brazil the prices are different otherwise I won´t be able t attend with my friends. I am already saving up, so I will be able to go to all two shows that they seem to plan. But my friends aren´t and we don´t poop money, guess I will have to take a more humble spot there....

Now on topic again hehehe... what if they played love is blindness as a coser sometimes, I feel it fits after MOS? and I it!
  7. I find it very unlikely that there will be any major changes to the set. They might throw in a Kite or a I Will Follow but never in a million years will we get Mofo etc.

I checked the bands webpage again. This time I looked at the European tour.I clicked on the show from Athens,Greece.09.03.2010.Red zone price catagory..302.50 EUR.I think the red zone are the GA,best seats.I dont have any idea how much that is in American dollars..I didnt take the time to convert..since alot of you in this forum are Europeans..you can tell me.I checked the gigs from Germany, but it was too confusing in German.302.50 EUR sounds like alot for a concert. Is it?

    451.27 USD
  10. 300€ would be 450US$ so that's very very expensive. Red Zone are on the side of the stage and I don't think they are the best places, regular GA if you come early at the stadium are the best ones. The money U2 will get from the red zone places will be used for the RED campaign in Africa.
  11. RED Zone is too expensive, but people with money can have a great evening and help buying medicines. But the other prices are 'ok'. GA is pretty doable and there are some very cheap tickets.

Point is the price depends on what people are willing to pay. As long everything (nearly) sells out there is no reason for U2 to lower their prices. If they do, most tickets will be sold for a high price on the black market anyway.

Ok..thank you for that info.My next question is..how much are the GA seats in Europe?..Over here in the U.S. they are $250.Thats alot IMO.That is also the price for the first 5 or 10 rows in the 100 sections. And the first few rows in the 200 sections as well.Thats crazy money. The price breakdown for the U.S shows are $250 then $95 and so on.I know the seats for $250 are not red zone. They must be way over $250..but I didnt see then available in the price breakdowns.But..thank you for the info guys.Cheers....
