1. I meant to say that nuclear weapons have the power to wipe out life tout court - not just human life - from earth. To be sure, we wouldn't physically destroy the planet, and we probably can't. But then we're just interested in different things. Destroying or endangering life is enough cause of concern for me. I'm quite ready to concede that in 1.000.000 years whether we push the red button now - or whether we seriously compromise our environment now in other ways - won't make a difference. But again, I think our lives and our quality of life, and especially the lives and the quality of life of the future generations, are worth taking care of.

But there was no interest to put such car on the market because then oil industry wouldn't make huge money that is making today.

There even have been cars that run on water....in the 1970s the industry was doing successful research with this. But it was stopped by that same industry.
  3. Things are messed up here...
Big protests today, buildings set on fire, government forces' motorbikes set on fire, around 4-6 people reported dead, among them the nephew of the opposition leader Mousavi. 300 people arrested, SMS is not working right now, internet is very slow and e-mail (all of them, yahoo, gmail, aol, etc.) is not accessible at all.
I just hope everything goes well, both sides are very angry...

Jesus, this is terrible, I'm sorry, I wish there was more I could do to help

  5. Ask the Saviour of the Earth and the Surrounding Space Barack Obama to send his army there.

  6. I don't find this funny.

That's sad to hear. 15 dead apparently. Iranian people seem to be more and more upset, and the government seems to be less and less patient. Some journalists here in Europe talk of the possibility of a new revolution.

I don't see that happening, but I really don't know how it will all turn out. They've arrested some political figures today, and now the body of Mousavi's nephew is lost, it was taken from the hospital, they are not giving it to the family, probably because they fear a funeral would cause more protests.
  9. Most people belive that global warming is real, but more and more people are starting to belive that at least some elements of the green movement are taking advantage of it to make money, and gain control. For insatnce; Gore refusing to argue with anyone who disagrees with him, doesen't help.
