1. which show is the version of VDL on the Rattle & Hum album from?
  2. hahaha oh, I always wondered why the "audience" stopped completely after the vocals came in.

    my bad, guys.

  3. Haha, its cool...at least you didn't publicly completely screw up the lyrics to "City of Blinding Lights" as I did about a page ago

But yeah, that's Edge at the Point Depot, where there were a few recording sessions. You'll notice "Desire" is actually different than the album version as well, with Bono changing some lyrics and Edge fudging up the solo, so it was apparently all from a session- possibly all the same one?

What's your favorite line or harmony of his?

Or do you not like his voice?

Sorry if there is already a topic on this

I like his voice and on "Van Diemen's Land" he shows he can sing. The thing he does on "Numb" is pretty cool as well. Also, his vocal contributions on "Stuck In A Moment" is absolutely great.
It's like Bono says on Slane: "Nice singing, Egde!"

And also: I think it's cool when bands have a lead singer and someone who can take the vocals from time to time (Queen comes to mind as well....)

Wow. I never realized that was Edge! The same with on "seconds" until I read it over the summer. It's so weird that their voices are so similar!

Does he only sing the bridge on Miracle Drug live or on the album version as well?
Because it sounds very similar to Bono on the album, while live it sounds more like Edge.

It's definitely him in the album, although I can see where you come from... I didn't notice it was Edge in the album too until I saw MD live
  8. Man Edge + Bono + Wild Horses from ZOOTV days = Super Win. I don't know why they feel like they didn't capture the song, live (i'm thinking like the stockholm show) it was kick ass. Other than that, there are many obvious points where Edge's singing is awesome. That is just one of my faves. Oh, and of course, Van Diemen's Land.
  9. Agree. The segue between UTEOTW and Horses was awesome (not only in Stockholm, but always), as well as Edge vocals there
  10. I think Edge is probably the best backing vocalist of all time (or maybe the Beatles)

His falsetto vocals on that Wanderer performance are amazing, it puts the likes of Chris Martin, Thom Yorke and Matt Bellamy to shame.
  11. Sir McCartney is hardly improvable. The Beatles were the kings of vocal harmony, listening to their stereo backing voices is the best musical experience ever ^^ ...

Am I the only one who thinks that the Edge's falsetto on The Wanderer is ridiculous? Not that he sings bad at all, just the "bla bla bla ma gua bla" bubbling is stupid
