So... what do you think of their chances? Part of me feels like they aren't going to win anything tonight, but another part of me used to notice (when I was younger and not so appreciative of a number of bands/artists/genres) that it seemed like the "old" bands/artists often won. Maybe this will work in their favor? Do you think the guys will be there tonight? I wish they were performing.
  2. They'll win nothing at all i think

Kings of Leon deserves the first two.
  3. I reckon that I wouldn't like Crazy Tonight to be "the U2009 song". It's not the best out of NLOTH, and I don't want the general audience to think that Crazy is the best U2 can give nowadays. I don't think they'll win any of the song awards.

And the album one... well, I love NLOTH but I think that ACDC's new album will take the award. Not deserved, probably, but it will be. Anyway I think that NLOTH has its options there
  4. I don't think they're going to win either and i'm not sure if i even think they deserve too. Would care much more about this if they were actually performing.
  5. I'd be glad if they won nothing. What do the Grammy's mean now, anyway?
  6. I don't think they will win 1 or 2.. The song is not played on the radio much in the US. KOL probably win these two. I think there best chances are with #3.
  7. Even as a proud U2 fan, I can honestly say they'll neither win- nor do they deserve- either award.
  8. double

  9. I wouldn't say they don't deserve it. The album nomination they definitely do. Maybe if Crazy Tonight was nominated in a pop category I might think it deserves that nomination... why were none of the other songs nominated? Breathe would fit better in the rock category... even Get On Your Boots. Why wasn't Moment Of Surrender nominated?

I'm talking about based on who they're up against. I think Crazy Tonight is even a Grammy-worthy song, but like you said- it would need more of a suitable category. And I agree with your suggestions/questions. I just mean that Kings of Leon have by far emerged and proved that they deserve that/those Grammy(s) more than anyone else in the category. I love U2, I love the songs nominated- but KOL deserves those awards for what they've accomplished. It's time for the Kings to plant their joshua tree.

Another good point, but in all honesty, I don't get the big deal about KOL. I really like Sex On Fire and Use Somebody, but the lead singer sounds like he has something wrong with him a lot. I'd much prefer someone else to sing the songs!

    Anyway, I don't think they'll win...but I would like them to!

I think Caleb Followill's voice is the most original one floating around in music today.

Bold statment...that I will continue to stand by until proven wrong.

I always wondered why the lead singer of Silversun Pickups wanted to make himself sound like a winded girl so much, and yet I'm pining for them for Best New Artist, so maybe I just have a weird-voice fetish.

And hey, isn't U2 up for some Grammy's as well? And what's with that Bone-Oh guy? Seriously... Srsly.
