    Memories of that day Boots leaked in January and was played over and over again on my iTunes too are coming back to me...


  3. (Sorry this is a little off topic) I know! The day it came out I bought it on iTunes because I couldn't find it anywhere online (I was buying the album downloading the single wasn't a big deal to me haha). I had probably listened to it close to twenty times the first day just trying to decide if I liked it or not. Finally I realized it was really kick-ass and I just went on playing it over and over!

    Anyway... how about that Magnificent?
  4. great tune, that is sort of defining everything U2 is and was: hymical, rocking, lyrical and stadium proof

  6. Because live songs are played slower and they are longer (in general). Magnificent is on the edge of boring and playing it live pushes it over the edge. The beginning is nice but there is no climax in the song imho.

    Will go into hiding from now on
  7. It simply doesn't work, it's one of the very weird cases of a U2 song that doesn't get improved live. Nothing can be done about it, I'm afraid
  8. it really pisses me off. I thought this would be a killer live. I dont mind Breathe being boring live but somehow i think Magnificent could be played much much better...

    the change Edge made in the solo at some US gigs gave me hope, but it's just not a very good song.

  11. New Jersey 1/2, Rose Bowl... maybe other US shows too, but those are the ones I listen to. Sadly he didnt change anyhting @ Brandenburg gate

    The change is so tiny that it doesn't change anything, IMO.

    Still, I enjoyed all live performances of the song, even at Zagreb 2 when it almost fell apart.
