Much more meaningful than any Coldplay album - and still I don't think even U2 fans understand it.

In fact, it wouldn't shock me at all if when it is released, it's like 3 new songs, a few remixes and some live tracks. U2 seems to have gotten lazy with releases in the past few years, so why break with the new trend?

But the real class of that album is Lemon.
Really curious to Every Breaking Wave.

Agree 100%. Lemon is very classy. And I'd really love to hear EBW. I fear it may be disappointing though. If it is such a great song, why was it left out at the last minute, in favor of a weak song such as GOYB? But I'm very curious indeed.

It's a better place without beach clips. Let's discuss barely audible recordings shall we?
Originally posted by yeah:No worries, you're entitled to have any opinion you want. Saying that people don't like Boots cause they don't understand it combined with that quote from MJs velvet lollypopworld just left me a little puzzled, that's all.

Funnily enough I find some people love Boots, normally the ones who don't really like U2, they say it sounds fresh and non-U2ish, lol.
Most U2 fans would disagree though, basically the song is hampered by Bono's ridiculously embarassing lines like 'sexy boots', they should act their age. Oh and the chorus is sort of atonal and not catchy for a pop hit.
Originally posted by vanquishI disagree, sure the beach clips were not exactly pleasant on the hears, but they weren't barely audible.
And they gave us a clear taste of what 4 songs on the album would sound like (GOYB, Magnificent, Breathe, UC) months before they were released. Much more accurate than all the pre-release hype that was wafting around, definitely a spoiler for the album though (it's a good thing they weren't clearer)
IIRC there were 5 beach clips, what was the other one? the acoustic sounding, campfire tune most people didnt like. (I can't find the clips on my PC). Maybe that's going to be on SOA

Really don't want to turn this into another Coldplay vs. U2 topic (WAY too many of those around here), but I guess I'm a little confused by the point you're trying to make. Are you praising or criticizing Magnificent and Crazy Toinght?
Personally, I'd rather listen to VLV straight through over NLOTH. And as far as live performances and atmosphere goes, I'd make the argument that the best part of the Coldplay show (Lovers in Japan) was much more interesting than the best part of the U2 show (Crazy Tonight). Just because the band walks around the catwalk doesn't make for a better moment in the show. Just my thoughts....
