1. I gave them 6/10 in the survey, but thinking about it more deeply now, I think I could have gone for 7 or even 8 - I love NLOTH, enjoy the tour, saw them last year and I'm going to see them in the summer again and I'm looking forward to the DVD release. The only reasons to give them less points are Bono's activities affecting the band, uncertainty about the new album and all the stuff surrounding singles recently.

I'm just as irked about the single nonsense as everyone else, and maybe I'm a hair naive...but can we really blame THEM for this, or just the industry as a whole? It's not as if the "single" is as big of a deal anymore than it used to be and U2 are all of a sudden dropping out of the picture...it's becoming less and less of a trend with all bands.

I mean, that being said, it still irks me, it's just not THEM that irk me.
  3. Id probably give them a 7.5 .
I love NLOTH and the new tour looks great so they dont loose any points their. What has been pissing me off is that they has been no solid news on an Australian Tour, the band has just as many fans here as the rest of the world so why the fuk r we getting screwed outta info, all i want is a yes or no from the band so i can stop thinking/agonising over it like i have been for over a year now. Also i havent seen a new U2 single in a music shop apart from GOYB, what happened did they not realease any?? So when u factor in no tour info and no singles u get over a year of absolutly nothing new, which i think all u2 fans would agree is pretty crappy. Atleast there is hope with this new DVD coming out in June. I'd also like to see sum b-sides.
Theres my 2 cents worth, i never thought id be bagging my favourite band but they can get back up to a 9 or 10 if they just tell me when they r coming to the great southern land

  4. The remix singles have to be imported from the UK or US - Big Star Records on Rundle Street should be able to get them and The Muses has the vinyl of Magnificent with the live B-side in stock for $15. I haven't found another copy of Boots - not that I need a third - anywhere except eBay.

We buy albums, dvds, tickets. And U2 gets free constructive feedback, what more can they ask for ?

Yes, NLOTH kind of sucks after a while. I think it contains one of the most horrible U2 songs to date - Crazy Tonight. I listened to the live version in Barcelona II; I really find it horrible. If they had thrown in Winter instead, the album would have been a lot better. Still, they got about half of the album right. Let's hope they make it two halves the next time.
  7. 6, because whilst 360 is pretty damn great they feel less like a band and more like a business.

I blame Paul 'Fat fuck' McGuinness.
  8. 8

Their material is still great, but their output is so astonishingly low
They spend 4.5 years recording NLOTH and NO proper b-sides at all?

I mean, this was the band that gave us Zooropa in between tour legs

Also Bono needs to lose some of his cheesiness - less cringeworthy stuff like Boots or SUC.

They need to get darker again, like they were from TUF-Pop.
It makes their music better. Songs like Disappearing Act show they can still write great, classic U2 material.

Hopefully Songs of Ascent is more along the lines of DA, MoS, Being Born, Cedars, UC etc.
  9. Think i put 7.5 can't quite remember. Just wish the fanfire shop would deliver stuff on time and that would not be still waiting for Artificial Horizon nearly 6 months after re subbing

The 360 tour was amazing, but really hope they mix the setlist up a bit more on the next leg. As regards the new album let's hope the Edge is a bit more on fire this time around, would have liked to heard some of the stuff from the Rick Rubin sessions, bring on the rock!!!!:
  10. i put down a 5.
I was lucky enough to go to the boston concerts last year but i live in New Zealand and there is no signs on the horizon for U2 to come down under so pretty disappointed at the moment!!!
I just got the remix album but wasnt that impressed by it. just want the new album to come out now
  11. I said "9." Obviously, the album was going to be put off, we really can't be surprised by that. New DVD on the way, the tour went very well. I would have put "10" but I will have to travel to New Jersey to see them again.
  12. Not Very Happy! They Are skipping Pittsburgh pa This Time . They Have Played Here Since Boy Tour ! I Have Seen Them Every Time Except Boy Tour ! i was Too Young To Go By Myself , And My Brother Would Not Take Me.
But You Never Know With Them They Could Turn Up Here ! Alot Of Great Places To Play Here Like Heinz Field ( American Football or Pnc Park ( BaseBall )

    Cheers
