I just doubt your countrys schools teach U.S. history, as well as its taught here. Then again, maybe they do. The way history is taught in the U.S. is shameful. I found no less than 6 errors in text-books in High School)

No mean to offend anyone, but there was a study I read about few years ago and it showed that Europeans do know USA history better than people of USA.

    Also, look at this:

The sad part, is I believe it. 90% of what I know about American history, I had to find out on my own time, doing my own research.

That being said, you dont have to be a dick about it.
  4. Not related to any current discussion, but since most of you think the EU is a bad idea, I figured you'ed dig this.

  5. Well nothing wrong with a satiric cartoon. They are pretty funny, without agreeing with the accuracy of their statements.

Problem with the EU is that they use it to keep the people small. Latest example is the Acta treaty. Covered by secrecy, though everyone knows that the people dont want it.. Ridiculous politicians who are not directly chosen by us have bypassed the parliament a few times already.

Also the ridiculous Strassbourg - Brussel thing. The traveling between the two and the expenses in one place alone. Not to mention the whole hypocracy in import and export. Protecting our own market to ridiculous extend. Belittle eastern european countries not in the union, etc.

But that said, it has it's good side as well. The euro is a 'good' thing, only we have been screwed due to underestimation of our previous valuta. Open borders is a good thing during vacations as well. So is standardisation of industrial norms.

Still. Its dickish how they try to force everything.
  7. Yes, we hear about the unity of Europe, how strong we are together, and the leaders don't even care to come to Kaczyński's funeral. Oh wait, he'd always say what he thought and was firm at his opinions, which were criticizing the EU many times, that's why they did not come...
  8. Acta treaty is also confidential in the USA

Amazing how far lobbiest from the entertainment industries can come with a big pile of money, even more amazing when you consider they are losing money by the second.

In the end the Acta treaty will just be a cover for a Chinese Firewall. Only we are brave, decent, modern and civilised Are we? Or are we just full of it?

Dont know him as leader, know him as someone who allegedly forced and if not at least allowed his pilot to try to land FOUR times against all common sense.

Also it was not easy with all the planes not flying Do you think that our hard working politicians would take the train ?
