1. If U2 isn't touring I stop listening to U2 after a couple of weeks, then I start listening again in a couple of days.

  2. ive had burn out on and off since probably november, but im kinda glad i did, ive found bands like Muse and Radiohead and have fallen even more in love with Snowpatrol, KOL Killers and coldplay , and most recently ive been listeing to Artic Monkeys album Humbug (VERY GOOD ) Vampire Weekend, Kasabian and Mumford and Sons. But that whole time ive never stopped listening to Ultraviolet light
  3. Never a full U2 burnout but in 98,99 and 2000 i had achtung baby and the live from dublin 93 gig burnout but was still rockin to pop and popmart. Like at the moment ive only just stared back on the new album NLOTH as a few weeks after the sheffiled gig i had a burnout on that album.
  4. I have a few times. Sometimes I'll just start listening to other artists a lot more, and give U2 a break. I think it's healthy though, I mean, U2 isn't the only good band/artist(s) out there. As much as I love em', I love other artists as well, and I love listening to them.
  5. Never had a real burnout, but the final years of the last century (the Pop-era) were a lowpoint in my fanhood I guess.

  6. Me too, I suppose. It may have had something to do with the fact that there was such a long gap between Pop and ATYCLB.
  7. I'm also a huge U2 fan.......Every now and again I will start listening to other bands just to get a feel of what else is out there. Many times the bands I will listen to will derive from U2 in some way, either an opening band on one of their tours or an intro song of some sort. I recently have really been into Dropkick Murphy's. Being a die hard Bostonian, I have known a few of their songs. But, I went to see their St Patrick's day show and wow are they fantastic live, just 90 minutes of full ahead music. If anyone gets a chance pick up DKM's new live CD-Live on Landsdowne, it is fantastic.
  8. Never !!!!!
  9. Never had one, but I do have U2 periods, like now I really like their 90s period and half a year ago I was really into War/Red Rocks...

Also sometimes I listen a little less to U2 and a little more to other artists like RHCP, Snow Patrol..

    +1

I can say I have a real burnout on some other artists I used to listen to alot, like alanis morissette or tori amos. but I guess that is mainly coz there's nothing new ahead and less coz u2 are so "big" for me.
  11. Only severe burnout I had was after HTDAAB.

Everything they were doing was making me cringe. Where I usually would turn up a U2 song, I'd turn it off.

Something about HTDAAB felt so constructed for as many sales as possible that I didn't want to participate in the U2 capitalist machine.
