I think the point im trying to make is that i can't see bono staying pretty still for 2 hours. Im expecting some kind of interaction like diving into the crowd or climbing the PA.

Whatever the critics say about U2's on-stage excess or off-stage antics shouldn't be an issue with the Glastonbury concert itself. Let's not forget that this band has written MANY anthems over their 30-plus years together and I think that even those who don't really like U2 will enjoy hearing One, Streets, Beautiful Day, etc...

They will pull this one off magically.

Can't see him crowdsurfing, though you could always hope for him jumping into the crowd a la "The Fly" on the Elevation Boston DVD...not exactly crowd surfing, but it surprised the hell outta me the first time I saw it..

If you REALLY mean that, the performance won't be special AT ALL...
As they did stuff like that a lot of times:

Live8 ; the performance for MTV in Berlin not so long ago ; a lot of Awards-performances (Grammy, Brit,...) ; the Obama inauguration...
Where other artists were performing too...

So, personally, i really think you're wrong.
This WILL be something extraordinary !
As a band that everyone knows, it's very easy to entertain a select audience with 2 or 3 of your hits... But to amuse a whole field with a very different kind of crowd and that for about 2 hours, well... That's quite a task for some 50-year olds

Really curious to see how they'll handle it !

I totally agree that they- being the rock concert spectacle Gods that they are- will NOT let this show go without some sort of big surprise/gimmick to make this performance special.
